"The Dream", by Harry Bernstein, is a book I can definitely recommend! Bernstein made his debut as a writer at the age of 95 with the book "The Invisible Wall". This is his second novel in which he tells the story of how, at the age of ten, he emigrated with his poor Jewish family from England to the United States.
Depression
However, the new country is hit hard by the Depression and the dream of a better life remains partly a dream. Harry's angelic mother does her best to make life easier while his mean father does everything in his power to make things worse. About how important money is when you don't have it, but even more about how important love and relationships are.

Nice to hear that a 95-year-old has written a book. Then you probably have a lot to tell 🙂

Mr Peter Olofsson says:
Hello and good morning! What a nice book tip will immediately pass it on to my wife who has the book blog.
http://www.pockethexorna.blogspot.com
I see that you will be picking up your "cart" in a few weeks, in fact I have already been on my first trip this year.
We have it year-round taxed and regulated, but this year all the snow stopped, of course it will be 4 wheel drive on the next car!
I have a really bad conscience that I comment so rarely on this wonderful, nice and life-affirming blog, I will improve. I will now go in and add a link here to your nice page on today's post as I did a few minutes ago! We hear you, of course, we will surely meet in the future, the world is not so big, your car is recognised and our next car will really be visible, I promise, it will be completely red with the text Jernsaxen Travel!
Have fun!
Take care of yourself and yours!
Hugs from Peter......hmmmm....... it has gone off the rails a bit on my blog I am currently calling myself the "last Viking chief Wolf Red"! Do not be alarmed, it has its explanations! (smiles)

Bear in mind that Bernstein was 95 when he wrote the first book. By the time this one (his second) hit the shelves, he was 98. The book tells us that he dreamed of becoming a writer from a young age. How wonderful that it is not too late to fulfil your dreams!
Peter, thank you very much for the link! Yes, maybe we will see you on the road! Our car is not too discreet... I'm really looking forward to meeting the car "Jernsaxen Travel" in the future."

Thanks for the tip about the oldest author to make his debut. I don't know which is more powerful, debuting at age 6 or 95... http://kim-m-kimselius.blogspot.com/2011/04/hur-gammal-ska-man-vara-for-att-bli.html
