As the name suggests, Långholmen motorhome campsite is located on Långholmen in Stockholm. The campsite is only open during the summer months, as the rest of the year the site is a boat storage area. But in the summer, this is a central and good place when you come to Stockholm! Although we live in Stockholm, we have tested the place this weekend ...
Central campsite/site
Långholmen motorhome campsite is centrally located and good for exploring Stockholm, although we would perhaps call it a caravan site rather than a campsite. This is a site on tarmac under a bridge and has all the services you need, such as toilets and showers, electricity, fresh water filling and grey water and latrine emptying. There's even a manned reception, where we were immediately given a map of Stockholm.
The campsite is open during the summer season, roughly from May to September (exact dates may vary from year to year). There is also a sister campsite located on Söder in Stockholm, and you can read about both at Motorhome Stockholm.
City campsite with many nationalities
You can tell from the atmosphere and the motorhomes that Långholmen's motorhome campsite is a city campsite. German and French are spoken here and many of the campers are young. There are plenty of new ordinary motorhomes, but also a lot of original vehicles. How about these, for example?
Beautiful day at Långholmen's motorhome campsite
We have had a really nice day in the sun at Långholmen's motorhome camping. We took out the outdoor furniture and sat down and just enjoyed, with some snacks. Later we had a luxurious dinner in the motorhome with seafood: shrimp, crayfish, seafood pate and Västerbotten cheese. Motorhome life is great!

It is a good place to stand, fairly central we usually stand there. The first time then we had a cheva "high top" with a bed in it, it is 12 years ago it was fun with it too. no amenities at all a tarpaulin for "awning" a chest of drawers for clothes, but we had a lot of fun.

Like the black and white bus. Must be fun when there are so many international people on the campsite. Are they social or does everyone keep to themselves?

Roger, yes, it's really central and good! And it's not exactly the amenities that make you have fun, even if they make it easier. We saw a lot of young people with simple cars, and I'm sure they're out on fun adventures!
😉
Jennifer, yes, it is a bit of fun when you meet people from other countries. At this campsite we just said hello. But last time we were on a campsite we got to know a Dutch family and spent the whole weekend with them....

The location is good in relation to the City. When we were there, however, we saw some really unpleasant characters. There were a bunch of big rats running around at our door. I was really scared that they would jump into the car. We think it's fun with different nationalities on the campers and you can really see that on Långholmen.

Lovely pictures I must say! Have such a damn bad conscience because I commented far too little during the summer on your nice blog.
I have had a lot to do with the campsite through my previous job, including ensuring that it did not become "an addict's car park" as it sounded like it could be in the Stockholm area!
It's nice not to have to do that anymore, I had no problem doing my job, but it's tragic to see how some people have to live, even though they live in a campervan!
Today I have actually linked to your blog, I like the name of your motorhome .... a little cooler than our "ingeborg".
Ingeborg will be changed to something cooler and more international and in time she will also need to be repainted.......
"The Loove Machine" is her new name.......(ler)
Have a nice continued summer, some people have started writing "autumn" already....it's still August for fuck's sake!!!
Big Hugs from Unnumbered Peter rolling around in "The Loove Machine"!

What cool cars!!! The black and white one was lovely.
Yes, I'll have to try Langholmen's car park sometime... 🙂.
Don't think the kids are hard to persuade to go shopping ;-))

Cool cars you photographed! We always stand on Långholmen when we are in Stockholm young 1 times / year, unfortunately not this year. Should be more so close to the centre.

That almost looks like the USA. 😉 Different styles and lots of personality. Nice to see how different cars there are.

Anders and Birgitta, rats are not so much fun as visitors. We did not see any at the campsite, but I have seen them in other places in the city from time to time...
Peter, don't have a bad conscience! Once you comment, you have a moment of interesting and entertaining reading, so it all makes up for it!
😉
Lena & Jan, yes it is great with a campsite that is so centrally located! A bit of a shame though that they close so early in the autumn. We guess it is because the boats are taken up then and lie there over the winter ...
Berit, we don't get bored either! We would prefer to live in the motorhome all the time... And we agree! It's nice to meet new people!
Anne-Marie, interesting comparison with the USA! We often think that motorhomes are a bit too identical, but not here! A little fun actually with these individual cars.
