Last Saturday evening we were invited to a champagne tasting at Peter's oldest son Robin and his girlfriend Alexandra. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary last summer (Peter 50 and Helena 35). They had set the table incredibly nicely and arranged a tasting of five different champagnes.
Champagne tasting
We had to taste, put the flavours into words and write ratings. Very exciting and interesting! We had some different opinions, but came to the conclusion that you can find good champagnes in the price range 300-400 SEK.
Dinners and parties
The evening continued with a really good dinner with two starters (toast Skagen and small Västerbotten cheese pies), a fish dish served with potato cakes and a finish with cheese.
Then it was the subway to Café Opera where there was dancing and more champagne. What a fantastic Saturday night and what a wonderful celebration! Thank you Robin and Alexandra!

Thank you for your congratulations and nice comments! It was really a fantastic gift and we are so happy to be invited so nicely and with so much care and feeling!
Pumita, when we did the "blind test" Helena stuck mostly to Don Perignon and Peter to Lanson. And Lanson is clearly more affordable then! Helena also thought that Moet was good.
Carina, what fun for them to get out and travel like that! We were on Koh Samui a few years ago. It's nice there, although we can recommend Vietnam over Thailand.

Lovely evening you had! Here in Roquetas de Mar in Spain we usually enjoy the Spanish equivalent CAVA, it is not allowed to call champagne but tastes very similar!
