Today we have done a full day sailing trip by catamaran in Malaysia, here on Langkawi. It was a really nice excursion, and if anyone is going here, we can highly recommend a trip with Rampant sailing. The couple who organised the trip were very nice and made sure it was a really good day.
Lovely day on a catamaran in Malaysia
We went down to the harbour here in Langkawi and found the catamaran from Rampant Sailing. We were immediately warmly welcomed on board by the nice couple who had the boat and the company. We slept on the boat and had the opportunity to swim, hang after the boat in a net and lie and relax in hammocks in the water under the boat.
Two more couples, who knew each other, were on board. Free drinks, fruit and a lunch with lots of Asian dishes were included. That it was overcast did not matter much - it is still warm all the time!
100 per cent chill
Doing something on your holiday to complement the beach life is wonderful. You also get very good information about the local situation and some great beach tips and good restaurants. Maybe you should start with an excursion every time you come to a new country and get the right information.
Jungle walk
After a few hours on board, it was time to stop at an island. Here we did a small "jungle walk" through a dense mangrove forest, until we reached an open glade with a small "lake" in the middle of the island. Really cool to walk through this dense rainforest, where you could sometimes see a glittering beetle on the way.

Just as much fun every time to read your updates. And we'll have to think about a sailing trip next time. It looked really lovely.

How wonderful you have it! Now I could also imagine a trip to the east. Today it is grey and only 15 C in Spain. Have a good continuation of the year. / Elisabeth and Lennart

Hey, hey, hey, hey,
Good to hear that you are doing well. We had planned to ride the cable car today but the rain clouds refused to give up so we hung out at Babylon instead. Guess you've already been there, otherwise a great reggae place if you just want to relax, drink cheap beer, listen to good live music and glide around among the fuzzy little design shops in the backyard. You'll also find what must be the world's smallest campsite. It would take a lot of will and a lot of effort to squeeze your car in there : ) The place is about in the centre of Cenang Beach (the long beach).
Tomorrow it is our turn for a boat trip, but with Mary af Rövarhamn of course. Then we go to Kuah to meet up with our friends who will sail with us to Phuket. Hope you have some nice last days here on Langkawi. And that we will soon see you somewhere else again.
Stuff,
Linda

A wonderful excursion, a little breeze from the sea is never wrong. We did a similar trip when we were in Bali! Keep enjoying, soon reality will come! 😉

Ditte, always great to be out at sea!
Elisabeth, grey and 15 degrees sounds a bit boring. On the other hand, much warmer than in Sweden.
😉
Lena & Jan, yes, these are really Robinson Islands!
Mary of Rövarhamn, oh too bad the cable car didn't work because of the weather. I myself am too afraid of heights for the cable car, but Peter would have liked to ride it. But then we have prioritised a lot of other things instead... We hung out outside Babylon on the backside (beach) one day when there was a guy juggling with fire there. Another day we sat down at a place by the street that I think belongs to Babylon, but then it turned out that they didn't have food that day so we moved on... We haven't seen the campsite and the shops. Maybe we'll check it out today. Peter will get a tattoo across the street from Babylon... We wish you nice trips, both to Kuah and Phuket! And of course we hope to see you in some new place at some point!
🙂
Marina, you too! Happy New Year!
Lars Permelin, you should really appreciate that you have the opportunity to be here! Great!
Veiken, it's always nice to be out at sea! And reality always comes after a while, whether you like it or not...
