There are only three weeks left until we move into the houseboat! We will take our clothes and utensils with us, but not a single piece of furniture. We have agreed with the current owner that he will leave behind the furniture he doesn't want.
Some furniture in place
It looks like the previous owner will at least leave the sofa and beds. Not bad, considering that this furniture had to be disassembled and then reassembled on site! There's also a fireplace, which is something I've always dreamed of.
Dining table and chairs
What we need to get first is a dining table and chairs, so that we have a functioning kitchen. We also need to buy some sort of shelving system for the wardrobe. We have a "crawl in closet", as we call it, in the former engine room. You can see the little door in there to the left of the stairs. And then we'll see how we can make it cosy in there. the houseboat.
In front of the fireplace this autumn ...
It's not easy to plan in advance, but you may need some textiles to create a "warm" feeling: rugs, curtains and tablecloths. We can also imagine ourselves wrapped up in a soft blanket in front of the fireplace come autumn. I've been looking at some cosy blankets that would be nice ... The question is which colours are suitable for a houseboat?

It will surely be exciting for you to move to a houseboat instead of an apartment.... but fun:-) I looked for your boat when we travelled on the subway over your place:-)) ..now that we were in Stockholm. It will be fun to follow your work with your new home. Just wondering how you planned with your clothes? If you have plenty of space for that. Since you both like clothes? It will be fun to see:-)) good luck. Hugs

These are just pleasant and amusing problems. It's great that the former owner is leaving the furniture behind. Thank you very much!
When it comes to furnishing, you don't have to take into account that it's a houseboat. I would furnish it with what I like in a "normal" apartment.

Oh, how exciting! I have had a blog break a little too long, but now I have caught up! So you're moving to a houseboat! Great! I am not at all surprised that it is you who have chosen this in life. GREAT! I look forward to following your continued everyday life, from both the motorhome and the houseboat. Hugs

So very cool that you will live on a houseboat! We will buy a catamaran and live on it ðŸ™'

Yes, it will have to be planned 😉 But it will be so cosy! We ourselves have moved a lot before and feel a little of the desire when we read about your move, it is something special with new views and new to explore ...
For those of you who often respond to comments you receive, how does it work when I respond to a comment you've made to me? Do you get any "response" to it via email or something? I do not get that when you respond to you and I think it is a shame to miss if I do not remember to go back to the post... Tips are gratefully received!

Lovely looking, the advantage of when we bought our new Matrix new
was that it was fully complete, just move in!!!
We even chose leather upholstery to make it a bit more luxurious!
Now we are out enjoying the car life and it is so wonderful.
so we hardly want to go home again.
Take care/Kram

Deciree, yes we also think it will be exciting! haha, yes we have cleaned up a bit among our clothes, but much is included! But we actually did not have such a large wardrobe before either, so hopefully it goes well
😉
BP, yes, these are pleasant problems! (Though there may be some tougher ones too, in terms of insulation and so on).
Katta, of course, now it's a houseboat and motorhome! Fun if you come along!
🙂
Annika, is it true? What fun! Where?
Allis & Stellan, no I don't get a response via email when you reply to a comment I made with you, and it's the same here. (I know that function is available in some blogs, but not here.) I am fully aware that many people do not go back and read. I write replies partly for those who want to go back and read and partly for new readers who drop in. Sometimes, if I want to make sure the person gets my reply, I copy it and put it in their blog as well. Like now...
Rolle and Carina, yes, it's easy with a motorhome - you don't have to buy a lot of furniture. Wishing you a nice summer in the motorhome!

Okay, good to know! I wonder if it could be a setting? I'll look into this and get back to you if I find a solution. For me, it would be good because I easily forget to go back but think it's so fun when I remember 😉 Sometimes there are quite a few blogs I visited... For now, I thank you for the tip about copying!
Have a nice Thursday!

Allis & Stellan, I think it depends on where you have the blog (ie Blogger, Blogspot, WordPress etc...). I've seen this feature on a few blogs, but don't remember where those blogs were. On our blog, it's probably not possible, because we write the answers as a new comment, not as a direct reply.

You get so inspired and happy by posts like this when people take action and follow their instincts or how to put it.
An honour with a little bit of jealousy 😉.

I think it was a wise decision to take over some furniture. Because even if you are handy, it is a bit tricky to assemble and disassemble furniture. I really think it looked nice!

Fantastic with both houseboat & motorhome. Congratulations!
But where do you put the motorhome?

Lena & Jan, it feels like an exciting and fun new start!
FixarFarsan, if we can inspire! We think it's fun to have projects going on.
Ditte, it feels a bit easier at the start in af!
Lasse Persson, please! We don't know yet. A parking space is included when you have a houseboat. We will see if it will be for the motorhome or the construction car. We don't know yet where car no. 2 will be parked.

Hi, yes, fantastically exciting and different. Glad that you dare to take the step! Many people probably get stuck in the template that you "have" to live in a villa, mow grass and have a trampoline for the children, drive a Volvo 😉

Really different dwelling and combination with both motorhome and also houseboat. It looks really cosy. Is it possible to live there and keep warm in the winter?

admin says:
Veiken, thank you! We hope we will enjoy ourselves!
Ninni, yes, it's easy to think that you have to do things in a certain way. Villa is certainly suitable for many, but I think this is more our thing.
😉
Across the board, please!
Anonymous, we need to do some work to be able to live there in winter: insulation, new windows and a heat pump. But that is the plan to fix it!
