An extra adrenaline rush while travelling? I have to admit that some people in this family are more adventurous than others. I like to skip things where you get too high up in the air, for example... but I like to stand on the ground and take photos. How daring are you?
Table of contents
1. zorb in New Zealand
You crawl into a big round ball, with some water on the bottom, and then you roll down a hill with a lot of noise. Apparently it was this much fun ...!
2. High-altitude track on the Vindelälven River
High altitude railway at Forsknäckarna in Ekorrsele was high up in the trees, overlooking the river. It is important not to be afraid of heights ...
3. Aquapark in Croatia
On Camping Puntizela in Pula there was a so-called aqua park. It was great fun watching the guys through the camera lens.
4. Horse riding in Iceland
Riding with Eldhestar in Hveragerði was more challenging than expected! The wind was blowing hard, the horses were struggling up steep mountainsides and all around us hot springs were bubbling.
5. Freefall Xtreme in New Zealand
In an adventure park in Rotorua in New Zealand you could try all sorts of crazy things, such as flying free using a wind tunnel ...
6. Submarine in Gran Canaria
The submarine trip in Gran Canaria was a calm and quiet tourist trip. But it was a bit exciting to dive underwater anyway!
7. Quad biking in Morocco
Quad bike tour outside Marrakech was really cool! We travelled on dirt roads, in mud, through Berber villages and in areas that looked like semi-desert.
8. Banana boat in Italy
This banana boat trip was made by Peter, Billie and Billie's mate in Sabbiadoro on the Adriatic Sea. It looks calm at first, but then it gets busy, I promise!
9. Rafting in the Vindelälven river
We've tried rafting in New Zealand, but... River Vindelälven was a bigger challenge! The top rapids were level 4, on a scale where 6 is the highest and means danger to life ...
10. Swoop in New Zealand
Another thing you could try in the adventure park in Rotorua was this crazy thing, where you are hoisted up 40 metres, and then dropped off in a harness on a cable ...

Some "activities" do look more daring. But some of them I have tried, maybe not in the places you have been.
I have done a Swoop outside Beijing on a more untouched part of the wall at Simatai where we swoped out over a lake. Cool and memorable.
I have been on board and travelled with a "real" submarine, the Swedish submarine Spiggen, and in diving mode. But then I was a teenager and braver than today.
But these adrenaline rushes are awesome.
I hope I have time for a few more...
Lovely and captivating photos!

Ditte, wow you tried swoop outside Beijing. Cool! I'm too afraid of heights for that... It's also cooler with a real submarine, I must say. I'm sure you can do a few more!
😉
Alexandra, no we haven't. I'm too cowardly for that... even though it seems cool. Have you?

Oh diving is amazing! I have a diving licence and have dived both in the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef. 🙂 But I can understand that it feels a little uncomfortable absolute!

Alexandra, cool! I'm a bit of a coward, but I understand that it can be fascinating. We met a lot of people who were diving in the Philippines, it was popular to dive there.

I am such a coward that I have not embarked on any of these adventures - except for the 4-wheeler. I have actually driven one.

Rafting is exciting and especially in Vindelalven which is in my husband's home area! I have tried a real high altitude course in Singapore (it wasn't really that high but it felt very high) and it was very scary when you went up there.

The wind tunnel would be great fun to try and also the big ball. Horse riding is wonderful too.

I'm not at all adventurous in that way. I get enough of a kick out of riding the serpentine roads of the Sierra Nivada National Park, but mainly from looking at the beautiful views and wonderful almond flowers. Elisabeth

I'm more than happy to jump on new things with my camera at the ready. It must be a little exciting so my adrenaline can raise the pulse a little! 🙂

BP, I'm a bit of a coward too... I've joined in on some things (quad biking, rafting, horseback riding, etc.), but sometimes I just take photos....
Pia, rafting was almost TOO exciting I thought.
😉
Scottish Moments, there was a lot of this kind of adventure in New Zealand, although I'm sure it can be found elsewhere too.
Criss-cross, absolutely! When I don't dare myself, it's great entertainment to watch!
🙂
Spider girl, eldest son Robin did Bungyjump when we were in NZ. Peter had a back injury, and I didn't dare...
😉
Elisabeth, there are many other types of adventure! Serpentine roads sound adventurous!
Wow, that's great! And of course you want to document the madness!
🙂
