Thanks for the great tips! I recognise many places and it's nice that e.g. New Zealand appears in several categories. I completely agree with that.
As for beaches, the Gili Islands in Bali are also a hot tip. Fantastic!
For shopping, I would of course add Beijing, which has everything and more (I'm not just talking about fake markets, but tailors, branded goods, etc. and ordinary goods in shops, plus fabrics of course).
Nice that you mention Iceland in terms of food. Felt a bit unexpected.
In terms of experiences, I like to add Tibet, including the 48-hour train journey from Beijing to Lhasa.
I realise that there is a lot to explore up close and I will probably start with Poland.

BP, haha, yes that's probably true... we can probably do very different things on our travels... depending on what is offered
😉
Ditte, yes it is hard not to return to New Zealand. It is such an amazing country! I have also done some shopping in Beijing, and can agree that Iceland surprised us in terms of food. They have great seafood, but also many really good restaurants that dared to experiment with the dishes.
Anna, yes haha... your comment may be very relevant! We were on the coast in Canada and there was a crazy abundance of lobster and scallops among other things. We had these two foods prepared in every possible way - both in fine and simple restaurants. For example, it was the first time I had lobster at McDonald's... Also plenty of fish, mussels and oysters. But ok, if you leave the Canadian coast, I don't know if it's so fun anymore...?
Steve, yes we have travelled a lot... but that's nothing compared to what's left! For example, we have a whole continent (South America) where we have never set foot... (yet).

What a fun post. I recognise myself in some of your characters. I had hoped to visit Mongolia and Tibet in this life, but we have visited Morocco and I thought it was lovely with its bazaars and people, not to mention the beach. I like to have experiences and good, exciting food when travelling. The culture in Israel and Egypt was interesting to experience and Poland is much more than you might have thought.
Thanks to his son's move to California, we have been able to experience the American way of thinking, living and working. Perhaps not a tourist country in the true sense, but what insights you get from living there for three months at a time as we did. Our son's wife has a Filipino background, so we also learnt a lot from her relatives. Anyone who travels always has something to tell - as true as it is said.

Henny, interesting trips you have been on! Surely it is true that you get experiences and have something to tell! And it is not only typical tourist countries that are interesting. Maybe even more interesting many times to experience everyday life in another country.
