We finally have a portable gym! As you may have noticed, we've spent a lot of time hunting for camping shops and tents to train in. At the last attempt at a camping shop, we gave up on the idea of an awning (crazy expensive and crazy long waiting time) and started thinking about other types of tents. BIG thanks to all the great readers who have contributed ideas and tips! But what happened when we got to the campsite in Roquetas de Mar?
Advertisement for second-hand tents
"There is an advert for an awning at the service centre", said Lena and Jan (http://rullandeteamet.blogspot.com). Unlikely enough, a German couple sold a second-hand awning that fitted our awning model! Needless to say significantly cheaper than the new tents that were proposed to us in the camping shops (£2,500 instead of £15,000-20,000).
Yesterday we got our new tent up, and today we have inaugurated it with a first training session! As you can see, it was good to go shopping. before we put up the tent, because now we can't get anywhere with the car ...
We are used to being able to turn the car out at any time, but now we have to change our minds. Obviously, we won't put up the tent if we're only staying for a night or two, but only when we plan to stay a little longer.
Getting started with training
Now we are starting the training! Wow, how little we managed today, compared to before. It is noticeable that we have spent a lot of time sitting still for the last three months. It is probably the biggest danger of camping life, it feels like - very easy to be sitting in the car or in the camping chair. But now it's over! Now we have started with Tapout XT programme again.
Annika says:
How lovely you have it now. Wonderful place you found right by the sea. I understand that you like it there and want to stay for a while.
Good exercise too. Wise to have an awning for that. I can imagine that it is as you write, the training suffers. A lot of driving, sitting still and good dinners.
Your life is SO good right now!!!

Ditte says:
How nice that the tent is in place! Nice to get started with the training again. Completely understandable that it is easy to be seated. Maybe you get bikes as well so you can move around if the tent is up and you stay in the same place for a while.
We walk between 5 and 8 kilometres every day or cycle and stay fit that way. But of course, the muscles would need their dose too.

Hello!
It looks great, now you'll have to take the bike if you want to do anything.

Goodbye!

Annika, it's very easy to sit still! But now we have a good place to train! And yes, we have a great time!
🙂
Ditte, both cycling and walking are good! We discussed bikes before, but now we have absolutely no room (and we can't hang on the back either, we can't load more weight). If we need bikes somewhere, we will have to rent!
Lars, we don't have any bikes unfortunately... we can rent if we need to!

JoY says:
It was a really solid tent you got hold of, suitable for your training, and sitting outside if it gets a little rough. It is super good that you have both space and weight left in the car when it is packed up. We only have a side wall with us and I think it weighs a lot and is a bit unwieldy when packing.

You are just such wonderful neighbours, probably heard how you moaned/worked on increasing your fitness 🙂 .
My day consisted of preparations for the friends' dinner. The newfound fog in the morning lifted just as we sat down at the table, the fog returned when we broke up ;-/ Satisfying that during the dinner, we exuberantly "nostalgia-aired" so many cool periods both in Dk / Sv in our lives 🙂 Praise for the dinner was licked 🙂
Sleep in or get lost, easy to get lost :-}

Nicest mobile gym we've seen, smart idea 🙂 🙂 🙂 .

BP says:
How nice it is and how big it is too! If you want to be more mobile, just buy two cheap bikes. Cycling also provides exercise. I mean it is quite easy to cycle to the nearest village if the campsite is far away. It is also cheaper and you get a few leg muscles on the purchase as well;-)

JoY, well, I don't know the weight and location... We can't pack more in the garage, so it has to go in the alcove...
Anna in Qatar, although I don't think I even knew what an awning was before I had a motorhome....
😉
BP, true but we don't have room for any bikes. In that case we have to rent.
Lena, hehe, there might be a bit more moaning today... We also heard that you had a very nice dinner!
🙂
Frankie & Co, thank you! Now let's try to utilise the tent!
Rolle and Carina, haha, let's hope so!
😉
Marie, yes it has felt more difficult! Jogging is easy, but we find it boring ...
Deciree, the awning can be used for other things too!
Znogge, yes it will be a long walk to the shop!

How clever!!! We have acquired TRX to make it easier to bring and train when travelling... otherwise it is easy to eat a lot of good food and maybe long walks but you may need something more. Great tips!
