Last night we went to the We are one charity gala at Friends Arena in Solna, Stockholm. We got to see both famous and less famous artists on stage, and of course a lot of aid organisations. It was fun to do something different for once!
We are one gala to raise funds
It was entrepreneur Michel Issa, from the aid organisation World Aid Active, who brought together eight aid organisations and organised the gala. The aim was to raise EUR 8 million for the vital work of the eight aid organisations to bring people together and unite around social vulnerability and exclusion.
Aid organisations and artists
"It's great to see people taking the initiative and working for positive change in the world. The organisations present at the charity gala, in addition to World Aid Active, were Trygga Barnen, Human Bridge, Interpeace, Life of Service, Afrikagrupperna, Teskedsorden and CharityFit.
In addition to hearing briefly about the work of the different organisations, we were entertained by a whole host of artists... Some artists we knew (YOHIO, Anna Bergendahl, The Moniker) and others we felt more like we were being introduced to. board have known about (Yuri Mrakadi, Doug Seegers, Mohombi).
By the way, it was great to have a first look at both the Friends Arena and the new and huge Mall of Scandinavia (which is right next door). The latter we will examine a little closer soon... Have you been to Friends Arena or Mall of Scandinavia?

I've been to both Friend's and Mall of Scandinavia, which has felt important as an old Solna resident.
But as for the arena, I like Globen better. and shopping centres I'm not too keen on. I've seen enough in the US, Dubai and Asia to be impressed. But it's fun...
I think the theme of the gala is commendable and would have been happy to support it.
Understand that it was nice to be there.

Haven't even heard of the gala. Ooooops, yes, I know! Oh the only artist I knew about is YOHIO who I love.
Have been to Friends and watched football. Do not like the stadium. It is ugly, looks cheap both inside and out and there is no "connection" at all between the audience and the players on the lousy lawn that has been replaced many times for more than a million each time. But it was football, after all. I cannot comment on how the acoustics work with a gala.
Mall of Scandinavia has only been open for a month or so. It is on the to-do list, no doubt. But getting there by car from Täby is much like getting to Nyköping to fly with Ryan Air;-)

Ditte, yes in Asia there are many huge malls...! We just peeked into the Mall of Scandinavia in a hurry now, but we will look there properly soon, maybe this weekend. I have very few trousers and sweaters after the water damage in the storage room ...
BP, I don't know how many people have heard about this gala, but it was a good and commendable initiative! It was in a delimited part of the arena (which still took several thousand visitors!) so really I have still only seen part of the arena... Maybe I didn't really get an idea of the arena itself, but the acoustics were probably not bad. Understand if it's a bit tricky to get to Mall if Scandinavia by car from you. How is it municipal? We took the metro to Solna centre and walked from there, a walk of 1.5 kilometres or so. I think there are buses too, but I don't know...

Nope. Not been to any of the places... Went to see Simon and Garfunkel in Solna. But that arena is not even left anymore. Råsunda... 🙂
