Camping Marina resort in Labin is a fantastic campsite in Istria on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. The family campsite in Labin has pebble beaches facing the Kvarner Islands with a diving centre, tennis courts and a restaurant. Camping Marina is located on a peninsula and has shaded pitches on a terrace or sunbeds facing the sea.
Breakfast overlooking the sea
When we woke up yesterday morning, we realised that we were in an amazing place. The original plan was to roll on quite early in the morning, but we couldn't resist stopping for a few hours...
We got a seat overlooking the sea, and what's better than a breakfast like this? Seriously, this beats most hotel breakfasts! The sun was getting hotter and hotter by the hour and we decided to stay a few hours and just enjoy the warmth...
Great pool and cosy bathing areas at Camping Marina
We have to say that we fell in love with Camping Marina. The campsite is located on a small peninsula, which means there's plenty of coastline and many pitches along the water.
There are no real long beaches, but small coves between the rocks. Very charming! There is also one of the nicest pools we have seen at a campsite, with a great view of the sea (top picture in the post). There is also a children's pool, diving centre, restaurant, beach bar and shop. In the surrounding area there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails, and of course you can visit the beautiful city. Labin.
Nice camping in Istria
The campsites are very nice and if you stand on the best (most expensive) sites you have both a sea view and your own barbecue. If you come by car, there are of course also cottages to rent.
Ivana gave us a little tour of the campsite and told us that most of the guests here are Germans and that families with children and divers come here. Prices vary, of course, depending on the season, location and number of people. It is most affordable if you have ACSI card - you pay €19/day for a caravan and two adults in the low season (exact dates can be found in the ACSI catalogue). We can't help but think that camping is a great way to holiday!
There were many pleasant hours in the sun, but eventually we had to leave and move on. Now we have moved to the western side of Istria. We will tell you more soon!

Well, we don't know what the temperature is, because we haven't gone swimming (yet). But we've seen a lot of people swimming and so on anyway 😉.

God so beautiful, the top picture absolutely wonderful!
Sure, camping breakfasts are better than hotels!
Greatly favoured as it looks so lovely!
Hotel breakfasts are best in the winter at home 🙂 .
Take care and enjoy.....

The first picture was absolutely wonderful, with the pool, there against the sea!
That said, Istria is clean and beautiful.
And the camping life, it's just so lovely. These breakfasts outside, I got so hungry, but I get to chew on old memories, yummy 😉.
Have a continued wonderful trip! Now I'm home and have kuckeliku and cake, in my blog, haha!
Kram, Gerd

What an amazingly beautiful campsite! And that pool... You usually see those mostly in pictures from real luxury hotels. Understand that you had a hard time tearing yourself away from there 🙂.

What a hit to send you on this trip! You can make any anti-campaigner want to click home a caravan or car on Blocket and press the plate in the carpet to get to Croatia before we who live in Germany invade in August 🙂.

Rolle and Carina, we can like hotel breakfasts too, but breakfast outside in a nice location beats most things 🙂.
Lena & Jan, the water is incredibly clear in Croatia. We are surprised every time 😉.
Nils-Åke, very beautiful it was!
Steve, it looked lovely, didn't it? It was also nice to sit in the camping chairs and sunbathe 🙂 .
Geddfish, the camping life is wonderful! And I'll have to take a look and see what's going on in your blog 😉.
FantasyDining, camping is cosy! However, your excursion in those forest cabins was more primitive and even more close to nature 😉.
Aila, we can definitely recommend this campsite! Very beautiful!
Vackralillavardag, I will try to write all the campsites in our lists under "pitches" then too!
Ama de casa, right? It felt a bit like a luxury hotel, but with a caravan 😉.
Lanclin, haha, yes but we often think that oh, this misses everyone who always chooses hotels 😉 It is probably easy to have prejudices about camping (we also had that before), but camping can be very many different things!

Ditte says:
What a nice campsite! And now in the low season there seems to be plenty of space as well. A place here by the sea and with its own barbecue would suit me perfectly.
Beautiful nature it is!
Camping has not become much of a thing for me, but I have sailed in Croatia, Turkey and a little around the Mediterranean and it is a bit like camping.
Looking forward to more reports and you seem to be doing very well.

So beautiful! And what a nice campsite!
Agree, what hotel moisture cheese goes up against one in nature by water! (In fact, I do not like hotel moisture cheeses, have eaten too many such in my job)
Enjoy!

Marina, really! And especially now that the weather in Sweden turned bad again!
Ditte, it is low season now and plenty of space on the campsites, but far from empty! (Even though I chose to take photos of some vacant sites.) Sailing in these parts must be wonderful by the way!
Lena in Wales, it can probably happen if you eat hotel breakfast often 😉 I like hotel breakfast, but breakfast in the sun by the sea is even better! 🙂
Helga, well we like to look around, so this suits us!
Imelda, it was probably only about 3 km from the campsite to Labin, but it's steeply uphill all the way so I wouldn't walk. The old town of Labin is very charming and sits nicely on a hill. I don't know if there are any specific sights, but it was still a nice town to visit! And a visit to the Velo Kafé is recommended 😉.
Lennart, we liked it 🙂
BP, it's low season and nowhere is full, but we certainly weren't alone either (although I did take some photos of empty seats).
Biggeros, right? I don't think you have to be a hardcore camper to enjoy a beautiful pool overlooking the sea 😉.
