We have had a nice weekend in the houseboat with sunny days and evenings on deck. We also had some unexpected guests and were invited home for dinner. Now we are preparing for this week's trip to the Czech Republic.
Unexpected visitors and dinner guests
How nice it can be when friends come and surprise you by knocking on your door! It happened to us on Saturday afternoon. In the evening, we were also invited to dinner at the neighbouring Solan and Lasse that we got to know in Portugal during our Travelling around Europeand who also travels with a motorhome. It was a very nice (and late!) evening with good food and a lot of talking and laughing.
Luxurious days on the houseboat
Otherwise, we have enjoyed the sun and lovely days at home on the houseboat. Peter has been talking about sandwich cake for about six months haha, so last Friday we decided to make our own sandwich cake for ourselves. It turned out really good and in addition, we could indulge in sandwich cake breakfast on Saturday ...
Today there is a work meeting and a doctor's appointment for me and then we have to pack and prepare for the event. the trip to the Czech Republic. How was your weekend and what does your week look like?

What a beautiful sky! And it has been nice days and evenings now for quite a while in Stockholm.
Always fun to meet friends! Glad that there was sandwich cake!
Delicious and a perfect setting to enjoy it in.
Have had an incredibly good weekend, but intense, with a trip to Dalhalla, Dalarna and the fantastic Wij gardens in Ockelbo.
And now another good week awaits.
How nice about the trip to the Czech Republic, I'm sure it will be great.

Emma, sun like sun? says:
Oh... sandwich cake. It's been years since I've had it. I wonder if I should try to make one. Can be exciting to see how it becomes à la Spain's range in the store.
And oh how lovely you look! Which I also think you have now.

Anette says:
Nowadays, it's rare for someone to just knock on the door - everyone has a mobile phone, so they always check if it's convenient for them to come. It's a bit of a shame because it's almost always nice to have an unexpected visitor.
Hahaha, Peter is a better looking (and much more painful) version of Plura, there in your kitchen 😉.

BP says:
The picture is absolutely superb! I have never made sandwich cake myself, so kudos to Peter. The weekend with the nice weather and the European Championship final has been completely in my taste and I hope the week will be good - despite football abstinence; -)

Steve, thank you! And great that you were able to enjoy the nice weather too!
Znogge, totally in our taste too 🙂 .
Lena, that sounds nice! Are you on holiday now?
Emma, yes, I have realised that smörgåstårta is a rather Swedish phenomenon 😉 But it should be possible to find ingredients abroad anyway, I think (even if it may not be exactly the same)!
Anette, you are indeed right! I agree that it has become much more unusual for someone to just knock on the door! And haha, the comparison with Plura was funny 😉.
BP, it wasn't really that difficult to make the sandwich cake, although it is of course a bit of a chore. Hope it goes well with the football abstinence! 😉
Rolle and Carina, it is super nice in the houseboat, and perhaps even more so in the summer! Wish you nice motorhome trips and soon a nice holiday!!!
Lisa, we think it's great here on the water! Wish you and Stefan a nice summer!!! 🙂
Gärdsmygen, isn't it wonderful!
Comsi Comsa, well, isn't it, haha!?
Imelda, hope your sandwich cake was good too 😉 And wish you a great holiday!!!

Matts Torebring says:
That's good for you, the way you "blog". Your own sandwich cake sounds delicious. Just use ingredients that you like and maybe not as "doughy" as many store-bought ones are.

Deciree, interesting that there are more sandwich cake fans! 🙂
Matts, yes I thought that the own sandwich cake was tastier than the purchased ones. And only ingredients that you have chosen yourself 🙂
Eva, thank you! We will of course report from the Czech Republic!
