It's summer heat in Jönköping and the mood is rising for the opening of this year's version of Elmia Husvagn Husbil. We have rigged our table and our roll-up and have already met another motorhome blogger.
Table and Roll-up in place
We now have tables, chairs and a roll-up in place in the south entrance here at Elmia Husvagn Husbil. Feel free to come by and say hello! Otherwise, it's full steam ahead here. No visitors are in place yet, but all the motorhomes and caravans that will be on display will be rolled in and cleaned up and there are many.
We've had a look around and listened to the exhibitors and know that there's a lot of interesting news to check out. We'll be back, of course! For now, you can peek in through the closed doors, haha.
Meeting with bloggers
We have a feeling (or rather advance information, haha) that a lot of motorhome bloggers will show up here at Elmia. We have already met Nils-Åke who writes the blog Motorhome and travelling. He stopped by yesterday morning and we have now had several very nice chats.
Nils-Åke is here together with the Småland section of the Caravan Club and helps as a volunteer. And there is of course a lot to fix at a fair that expects around 35,000 visitors!
Nice atmosphere
Even though the fair hasn't even started, the atmosphere here is great. Members of the Caravan Club played mucky (a Finnish board game similar to kubb) last night with laughter and cheers. Further away, a Chinese lantern rose above the motorhomes and caravans. At first we thought "those lanterns are part of New Year's Eve", but then we realised that this fair is called "Campers' New Year's Eve" ...
Ama de casa says:
Wow! How professional you look where you sit!
I'm sure there will be a few more visitors as long as they open the doors and let people in... Just peeking in through the glass windows won't be quite the same... 😉.

Nice that you are in place. Admittedly, I am not a camper/caravanner, but I still enjoy reading your reports.
It's always nice to see the range of innovations too.
And you look well set up.
It's also nice to have good weather, which Stockholm also offers.

Lennart, see you soon! 🙂
Nils-Åke, indeed! 🙂
Ditte, we hope to offer some interesting reports even for those who are not super interested in motorhomes and caravans. Let's see what we can find 😉.
Diana's dreams, last year there were around 35,000, so we're guessing something like that... 😉.
Åsa in Åsele, the weather is fantastic! But you're right, the exhibitions are indoors.
Rolle and Carina, I think you do! 😉
Ann-Sofie and Lennart, what fun! 🙂

Nice. It looks like Elmia has fixed the stairs a bit and it was needed - there were many who looked around on the way down and fell the last few steps because they thought they were at the bottom!
