Phew, it has been a pretty tough and stressful week. We only just managed to get home from Elmia exhibition, it was time for me (Helena) to start working full time again. At the same time, it was time for blog events and a lot of other blog work.
New (yet homely) job
When we travelled Europe around 2015 I lost my permanent position as a public health scientist in the county council, and since we came home I have had various short-term jobs. During the summer I worked from home, but now it's time for full-time office work again.
This time the employer is Karolinska Institutet and the assignment is completely new - but ironically, I've got my old office back where I was before we travelled around Europe. I have managed to empty the bookshelves since then - but it still feels like home!
Blog events and news on the blog
We also had time for a blogging event at Casino Cosmopol, with both tourist agencies from different countries and a lot of travel bloggers. We didn't have time to take photos or write though ...
What about news on the blog? Yes, we are working on several different exciting projects and ideas, but we will return with more info when we are a little further along!
Quiet weekend
Fortunately, we have a quiet weekend! We are enjoying life on the houseboat, trying to catch up on the computers and have had our good friends Lennart and Beata visiting. You may remember that the heron that hangs in the marina is quite good at hiding? Yesterday he spotted a couple of canoeists paddling into the marina, without being spotted. Only when they turned around and paddled back out did they spot him ... What does your weekend look like?
Lennart says:
This week has been a week of calm.
Most of my time has been spent in bed.

Camilla says:
Quiet days and weekends are also needed... It's easy to rush, especially when there are fun things going on. I'm in need of calm right now. Taking it easy with the caravan in Sälen this weekend. Finally got up and out a little further on the mountain yesterday. Awesome! And oh how nice it is even in little Sälen 🙂.

During my weekend, I gathered my strength and spent a lot of time outside. Listened to my body.
But in 1.5 hours I'll be cycling off to be a churchwarden at the Children's Cathedral. That's pretty light-hearted.
Enjoy 😀 and wine for the heron 😉 .

Good luck at work. No peace and quiet here with us either. In the coming week, we only have half staffing in some parts of the office. There will be early mornings and late evenings. I have nothing at home that stresses me anyway. Enjoy it as much as you can!

I don't understand why time is running at 390 knots - I don't think I have time for anything during the week. However, the weekend is really nice with family fun.
Good luck at work!

Imelda says:
Even a quiet weekend at home can be stressful sometimes, there is plenty to do even there. I notice that I would rather be out in nature than at home and clean ?

Lennart, get well and good luck with your rehabilitation!
Camilla, it's great to hear that you got out on a longer trip in Sälen. Have a great time!
Geddfish, that sounds like a great weekend. Have fun!
Lena, thank you! Yes, we really needed to rest after this week 😉.
Anette, thank you! and oh how good with crayfish! Here it was goulash stew yesterday, but tonight there will actually be some crayfish 😉 .
Matts, thank you! It certainly sounds like you are busy too. Hope you can enjoy a quieter weekend!
Steel city Anna, thank you! The heron is not particularly afraid anyway. Sometimes you can get 1.5 metres away from him before he flies away.
Across and across, it just feels like time is disappearing!!!? Glad you have a relaxing weekend! Have fun!
Imelda, it can be like that. Sometimes it can be better to get away so you can't stress about anything 😉 .
Åsa, oh my goodness, you get jobs!!!? Have to check in with you and see if you have revealed anything... 😉.
Diana's dreams, weekends are needed!
Steve, thank you! Haha, glad you feel that way about the heron! Yes, he is becoming a permanent feature of our life here 😉.

What a hilarious coincidence to end up in the same room again!
Egrets are like mirages sometimes 😉.
I don't really know what the weekend has to offer, but I'm sure it will be nice. Today we will at least take it a bit easier after the hectic day yesterday. That's the plan anyway. To go on in peace and quiet 🙂

Having a great time in the Spanish summer cottage with daughters and grandchildren. And the worst of the heat seems to be over and it's a pleasant +27., a little warm but quite ok in the shade and the evenings are lovely. But the whole summer and September has been so nice at home. Now I'm spending the summer here for a while, but some travelling and planning for new assignments will keep me busy.
Glad you have some different projects going on, hope it will be good. Of course it will be ...
I'm glad you've got your old room back and you're back on track. Good luck with the job.
Fun with the heron, but it is not so fun to have it close to you. Does best at a distance...
Wishing you a great Sunday.

Ditte, it sounds like you're having a great time in Spain and fun with some projects going on! I would say the heron does not bother. He mostly sits on some bridge and watches 😉.
Rolle and Carina, fun with the fair! I like the job and it's good with an income, but of course it takes a lot of hours from other things, haha 😉.

Congratulations on your new job! I hope you enjoyed your old room since you got it back.
It's nice to have weekends as a little relief from everyday life. Our weekend has gone in the sign of the grandchildren because we are leaving next week. There was also Indian food at a restaurant to cool down, as we pack and repack Helge every 15 minutes.
