The day before yesterday it was released, the new 360 camera from Nikon. Samsung also has a 360 camera that was released not so long ago, but the model from Nikon seems to be a little bit sharper in some respects. Guess who went shopping for an early Christmas present for ourselves yesterday!
What is a 360 camera?
The point of a 360 camera is that it captures everything around you. It has a lens in each direction and combines everything into a single image. You can film with the camera and get a film that is displayed in 360 degrees.
This means, if you are watching the film on an iPad, you can turn the iPad and see what is to the left or right of what you first saw. If you are watching the film on a computer, you can use your mouse to move to the right or left of the image. And - if you're watching the film with VR glasses - you'll feel like you're crawling inside. unnecessarily the film and are on site. Hello and welcome to the future!
Where can you watch 360 films?
So far, it's primarily possible to watch 360 films on YouTube and Facebook. Over time, more and more sites will probably support the new technology, but the giants are leading the way.
We, who have a travel blog, hope to be able to show films in this format in the future, but for now we can show our films on our Facebook page and on our relatively new Youtube channel.
Key Mission 360
So we got the Key Mission 360 camera from Nikon and Peter is as happy as a child on Christmas Eve, haha. In addition to the fact that this camera can film in 360 degrees, you can also use it under water. Lots of exciting possibilities!
We are of course planning to film here in the marina and on our various trips. Among other things, we have a plan to attach the camera to the helmet on the ski slope in the Alps in January. Weeehooo! Hope you join us on our new adventures!
Ditte says:
Congratulations on a good and fun purchase! Have so far only read about the camera but it is certainly interesting. Absolutely! And handy to the format as well, even more important.
I like both the format and what I have read about the camera. (Got a link yesterday from a good friend).
Might be a purchase here too.
I imagine Peter's Samsung camera will have some breaks.

Nice and good with a new and a really good camera. Of course you should buy one. I only have my mobile phone that I use the camera on, but you should probably buy a real camera that is good.
Have a great Sunday!

Ditte, how nice that you have also looked at this camera! Yes, the size is really handy!
Tantglad, mobile phone cameras are good nowadays and can be used in many situations, but sometimes a real camera is much better!
Lena, yes, but isn't it? 🙂
Steve, yes indeed, our Christmas present has arrived. The development is almost incomprehensible, but we will see more and more of this!

Lennart, new technology can be really fun if you have a good use for it.
The motorhome Helge, right? It kind of shone in the eyes, haha.
Marina, it will be very exciting to try and see how it turns out!
Anette, great that you have an underwater camera! We thought about one before, but it didn't happen then.
Comsi Comsa, glad you're following along! 🙂
Annie, yes, but isn't it? We are also very excited and curious 🙂 .
Geddfish, technology is advancing at a furious pace, it must be said! The box camera was perhaps not so long ago, but still feels very distant!

Oh what joy there was in those eyes, you never get too grown up for technical things...? (at least that's what my male owner says)
My owners and I hope to be able to enjoy some nice pictures with the new camera soon.
Until then, we wish you all a very happy 4th Advent!

It seems to be a useful camera for capturing a special place and its surroundings. It will be interesting to see if and how this little gadget can take the image to a new level.

WOW! Congratulations on your new mate! Peter looks like a kid on Christmas Eve, for sure:-) Don't forget to name it, it will last longer and "sound" better!
Will be fun to see you and the camera "in action" and how the result will be. Just like Steve, I have to "see" it, as I have no great imagination when it comes to technical stuff;-)
It goes without saying that I'm on board:-)

Great news. I had no idea it was available to everyone. Can't wait to see the results eventually!

Matts Torebring says:
When I bought my Canon EOS 70D, the Seagull stick looked at it and said, "Will you use 5 % of everything it can do"? It's not that bad, of course.
But there is a lot to learn. Good luck with your new camera.

Katarina, yes indeed! It will be exciting this 🙂
Cathinka, well first we have to start understanding how everything works 😉.
Solan, we hope the films will be fun! It's a bit of a learning curve at first, but it's going to be interesting!
Husisblogg, Peter has been talking about this for a long time, so yeah.... it came out of his eyes when he finally got to unpack it, haha 😉.
We don't really know how it will turn out, but of course we hope it will be good 🙂 .
Lars, yes, there are completely new functions compared to previous cameras, so it is really a new thing and also with new areas of use!
BP, haha, I have told him to name it! It hasn't got a name yet, I think, but maybe it will 😉.
Elisabeth, this is completely new. Peter reads a lot about this kind of thing, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it.
Matts, I can sometimes think that it's hard to learn everything. But when I begin to understand how it works, then it's fun with new technology!
Spider girl, of course we do! 🙂
Kattis, it will be very exciting to see how it turns out! We will get back to you when we have learnt a bit more about it all!
