The year is coming to an end and it's almost time to look forward to an exciting new year. But before that, we will summarise the motorhome and travel year 2016. There were a total of ten trips abroad (plus two Åland cruises) and three slightly longer motorhome trips in Sweden. Wow, what a year it has been!
Table of contents
January
We kicked off the year with a travel fair and travel blogging conference in Helsinki in Finland. We wrote about Matka travel fair and shared tips for travel bloggers from all the lectures. We also had the chance to visit Turku archipelago, try beer in 'school' in Turku and enjoy delicacies in Turku market hall. In addition, we had a wintry experience at Haltia Nature Centre in Espoo.
February
In February, we reported on the Motorhome and Caravan Fair. Caravan Stockholm at the Kista exhibition. We wrote about the fair, and appointed our favourites among the motorhomes, in three different size categories. We also had time for a day cruise to the Åland, with Ecker oil line.
March
In March, we actually stayed at home in Sweden. We visited Sweden's oldest city and reported from both All for the sea fair and from The Wilderness Fair.
April
We were nominated for the "Golden Pen Award" for all the articles we wrote on Croatia and invited to the Croatia to attend the award ceremony. We were able to witness the amazing the ceremony in Split and also got to experience the city Split and the great excursion destinations Šolta and Trogir.
We also travelled extensively in our own city Stockholm. Among other things, we visited Djurgården and Skeppsholmen, and did city walks in Old Town and on Östermalm.
May
Now it was time for Istria in Croatia. In cooperation with the Croatian Tourist Board, we rented a small motorhome and travelled all over Istria. We visited several absolutely fantastic places, such as scenic Camping Marina outside of Labin, the charming little coastal towns of Fažana, Rovinj, Vrsar and Poreč and the mountain village of Motovun and the capital city Zagreb.
June
In June we visited Hungary on a blogging trip with a bunch of other travel bloggers. We checked out Sights in Budapest, discovered the unexpectedly beautiful city of Pécs in the south of Hungary and also went on a wine tasting programme in of agIrish wine regions.
July
In July it was time for another blog trip, and this time it was to Czech Republic. We got to experience the cool music festival Colours of Ostrava in the eastern Czech Republic and also visited the cosy little village of Štramberk.
From here we went to the beautiful city Brno, where we were able to make an incredibly interesting visit to the Villa Tugendhat. In addition, we visited the magnificent Summer Palace Chateau Lednice and tasted wine in the Czech wine regions.
We also made a trip to Poland, to visit our friends Lennart and Beata, who have a holiday apartment on the coast. We hung out in the swimming and surfing paradise of Rewa and visited the three beautiful towns in the area: Sopot, Gdynia and Gdansk.
August
In August we travelled with the campervan to The big Nolia fair in Piteå. Here we checked out, among other things new motorhomes and Tony Irving's dance show.
We also had a bit of summer in Stockholm archipelago with weddings on Blidö and picnic boat trip in the Djurgård Canal.
September
In September, the motorhome rolled again - this time to Elmia exhibition in Jönköping. We had our own stand on site and reported on all the news at the fair, such as on motorhomes Tuscany that we fell in love with, the luxurious Morelo Empire, if caravans for different types of customers and whether smart accessories. In addition, we tested the parties, questioned the different motorhome clubs and gathered all motorhome bloggers.
October
In co-operation with the Malta Tourist Board, we made an exciting and interesting trip to Malta. Malta. Among other things, we visited the capital city Valletta, experienced a "light festival" in the city Vittoriosalearnt more about the mysteries of the ancient palaces. Hagar Qim, visited the beautiful sister island Gozo and tried a bunch of really good restaurants.
We also drove the motorhome to Kristinehamn, where we gave a lecture on the importance of travelling by motorhome in Europe. Incidentally, the way there was dramatic and ended up with salvage …
November
At the end of November, we started our 'Christmas market tour' with a trip to Czech Republic. We slept one night at Liblice Castle and then travelled to the unexpectedly nice little town of Olomouc in the eastern Czech Republic. We also had time to look around in Prague and visit the city's Christmas market.
Before that we had time for a day cruise to Åland with Viking Line, and some different fairs such as photo, food and wine fair and Travel News Market.
December
In December, we continued with two more "Christmas market trips", the first being Croatia. We visited the beautiful turn-of-the-century town. Opatija and experienced the city's annual chocolate festival. In addition, we were able to experience Christmas market in Zagrebwhich was actually voted the best Christmas market in Europe for the second year running!
The next trip was to Warsaw in Poland. We tried everything from shopping and museums to authentic Polish home cooking in the neighbouring the capital city and visited the marvellously illuminated Christmas market.

What a great year of travelling! When I think back on our own, I am still very satisfied. Have had time for both golf in Portugal, motorhome a few weeks in Normandy, Alsace and Moselriesling, bear watching in Hälsingland, motorhome along the Wilderness Trail, hiking along the Costa Brava with Barcelona + a lot of long weekends to Skagenröra, Kungshamn (of course), Öland etc. It will be fun to follow you next year and at the same time have your own unwritten leaf to look forward to! My owners would like to thank you for all the nice blog posts you made in 2016. The owners started following your blog after the summer, just before you visited Elmia and have since then read your blog almost every day. Sometimes with comment and sometimes without comment. However, I always try to comment with you as it is nice that you always respond and think it is nice when someone leaves a trace behind when they read what you have written.
I myself have had to roll in Europe this summer where the goal was Croatia. Drove from Novigrad to Trogir on small roads, big roads, crooked roads, straight roads, good roads, bad roads etc. Drove along the coastal strip and got to see a lot. Also spent a week in Germany on the way home and this time got to see a little different than the auotobahn. Then, of course, there have been small weekend trips for me but then only within Sweden's borders.
Wishing you all the best and looking forward to your continued blogging.

What a post! What a year you have been through! Absolutely incredible! I understand how much work and commitment is behind it. Nice to read about a year, with so many positive events.
