Yesterday we had great fun at Caravan Stockholm in Kista, and we met so many wonderful people. Readers, exhibitors, photographers, journalists, newspaper publishers and all sorts of random people like us. This energy permeates the entire fair and it is on a level that is so cosy.
Here no one is bragging about the best house deal, the most beautiful and expensive motorhome, about their company that is doing so incredibly well, but wonderfully ordinary beautiful people who are doing well but have their feet down, me like! I've gone through some models in certain price ranges and today we're looking at more luxurious motorhomes. Stay tuned!

Luxury motorhomes
There are luxury motorhomes well over 4 million, but if we stick to luxury in Sweden, which is more common, we are talking about a segment between 1.2 million and 2 million. This is a customer group that is possible to reach in a certain percentage. Let's start with KNAUS!
Now you can look around your car with 360 technology! Spin around the image by holding down the mouse button and dragging around. Enhance the feeling by pressing the square at the bottom right and get 360 full screen. With your smartphone, take full screen and then move your phone around and see the entire car interior from all angles. We hope all browsers can see this.
No 2: Carthago 58 XL
No 3: KABE I 810
NR 4: Pilot LV 8.5 GJL
What is coming?
We have so much more coming from the fair. Accessories, two lectures, caravans, and motorhomes under £500,000. Which car would you choose, if you could choose?
Kate says:
We were there yesterday ... and I think I saw you Peter when I (read we ...) sat with my shoes under the table, in the sock box and rested my feet and took a cold beer just before closing time ... What motorhomes and what nice caravans ... Now we are looking forward to the coming season ... Now it will be a spring year!!! Hugs from Kate

Independence says:
Hi Peter, so it is a number 2 that we ordered so nice ?

Anki says:
Lots of big luxury cars - all of them nice, but none of them I want.
I think a certain Matts will be a bit disappointed here ... no 360 film in Kaben and the wrong model 🙂.

Ama de casa says:
What motorhomes! Wow! But I wouldn't want any of them. Too big. Because it is supposed to drive around with them on the roads too? 😉
Have a nice Sunday!

Solan says:
We go with the Ikea approach...no bus for us!!!

Matts Torebring says:
At a trade fair, many people are caught by the fine and luxurious bar cabinet. I can often hear, "God what a nice bar cabinet, I want this car". I start with the doorway to the garage, look at the cargo space, the layout, practical details, distance to service and finally the price tag. If all this matches my own wishes, then I go in.
I could never imagine a motorhome without a wardrobe, with space for a winter jacket, on the left-hand side of the door. Kabe also has models with a toilet in the "living room". To empty the toilet you have to move outdoor furniture out of the way, no way. Not a day with this layout.
We ourselves have made our choice. A fully equipped car is no more expensive than starting lower and then adding everything you want. I did ten hours of research in 2005 on this. We then chose a fully equipped year-round car from the beginning.
We travel all year round and don't want to sacrifice anything, or even compromise on simpler solutions. In our final choice, we get a combustion engine, hydraulic outriggers as standard, and air suspension as an option.
Your 360 pictures are fun. But as Anki writes, the most complete car, you still did not get with. It is forgiven, we described ourselves when we got it this summer. We understand that many people start with a cheaper car, we have also done that. We've been doing it all our lives! Had we not done so, we would have had nothing to dream about. Now we have reached our goal, when we chose a Kabe Imperial 910 QB.

Anders and Birgitta says:
Became a little interested in the Kaben that Torebring has come to the finish line with, Kabe Imperial 910 QB, therefore went in and looked at it online, then becomes a little puzzled when you can not find the service weight but only information about the total weight of 5 tonnes, there is also no information on how many litres the tanks for fresh water and grey water hold, is it something that they want to hide, do they want to obscure information about how much you can / may load?

åsa in åsele says:
Actually, it's crazy that motorhomes & caravans cost more than a house... well, depending on where you want to live 😉.
I think many motorhomes/caravans are so colourless and boring, both inside and out. Although it is of course possible to change the interior... but the original is usually white, grey, beige and preferably brown colours.
A little more rainbow if you please 😀.

Mr Steve says:
Amazing display you offer with your 360 camera. Luxurious to say the least. I still have a hard time knowing which one I would have chosen, if it was relevant, because there are lots of features and practicalities to consider. Things that are important, but not always visible in the picture.

BP says:
Totally agree with your comments about the fair visitors. Was trying to say something similar in my other post about the fair.
I also took a photo of the Carthagon with the "evil shark grin" - but not from the inside.
I understand Asa's comment. It is a bit colourless inside the motorhomes. But at least the dark tree is gone in more models. A few manufacturers also put a little effort into the exterior, including a German company that started with a "P".

Reply to Anders & Birgitta: I agree that some factual information has to be searched for. Send me an email and I can scan all the information and send it to you.

Plenty to choose from

Across the board says:
Carthago, of course. Well-equipped, solid carpentry, substantial loading bay and large garage. Quality right through to the smallest detail. There is no car that can be compared to it. Carthago is outstanding 😀
19 February 2017 - 16:59
JoY says:
Of course we choose Carthago because we own one and are very happy with it.
Fortunately, we are all different and have different opportunities to choose a car. Sad if there was only one model. In addition, how and where do you want to drive around with your motorhome, long high wide short low etc something to think about before a purchase.
Fun with the 360 films.
Hugs

Peter Bergström says:
Kate: I'm glad you're writing because I haven't answered you before. I'd love to meet you and have a chat, so now I have to post my phone a bit more easily accessible so you can send a text message. Personal meetings are gold Kate. Soon it will be spring and we can't wait to leave in freedom.
Independece: Hi Tore: A Carthago XL 58 is a perfect car for you as a person. Now it's time to become members of the Carthago club too!
Anki: We have to blame KABE for not having a nicer model at the Kista fair. This is what I could find out from their side. We are also not interested in these motorhomes so we know what you mean.
Ama de casa: I agree with the previous speaker and I think these are the last dinosaurs that are out now. The next generation will want simpler motorhomes but with more technology.
Solan: Haha, buses never get to see as much as little Italians. Up to them.
Matts Torebring: Finally, there was a very long feeling from you and a very long comment, me like. You have your head on straight but you know that you are a little too much KABE. If you didn't have your movement today, you would be a salesman at KABE because you want to make an impact I respect that because I know you are an intelligent person. Sometimes you can forget that others have other wishes. This model fans on coffin as their most luxurious, and we don't go in and do research on every car, but more what is available. I think KABE is right on target today and maybe a few years down the line, but there's a new generation that wants completely different things, so we'll see where it goes.
Anders and Birgitta: I don't think KABE wants to hide anything and Matts has written that you can contact him.
Åsa in Åsele: It will come and I promise. A new generation is coming in and I have thought this soooo long and therefore designed our car ourselves. Today it is even worse than it has ever been because everyone looks the same. we have to wait a few more years.
Steve: I understand that it's not easy. you should also wait for driverless cars so your time will come. We can start with the living room door! How on earth can you make a 55cm entrance in a motorhome? What were you thinking? We'll start there and then the rest will follow...
BP: I think it's time we went into the industry and changed some things. 50 % is beige leather? Hello!!! I'm not in a five-star hotel when I go camping. What have we lost? A motorhome should be ecological, right? Now it's gone too far.
Matts Torebring: Absolutely right!
Nils-Åke Hansson: There are so many wills and so much different thinking and they want to meet the market. There is too little research to produce smaller models and more correct motorhomes, and hence higher prices. I think you are right.
Across the board: Hahaha, it's nice and we know it. Have that discussion with Matts, haha.
Joy: I am still an amateur with my photos but I am learning. I understand your feelings about your cars and there are a lot of people trying to make an impact, and it's pretty funny about your feelings about your cars and what's good. I love writing about this! we ourselves will write about what we think later this week.

Matts Torebring says:
Thanks Peter: It is always a pleasure to read your comments back. (That you manage to comment all) "Only the best is good enough" is my motto. I have the greatest respect and understanding for your objectivity,

Wow, what prices..... as expensive as a villa!
I think they are a bit too big to drive around on the roads :).
Wishing you a great week.

Deciree says:
Very funny that you got the 360 pictures. Then those who are looking for that particular brand can look and ponder. You help many with your films and your super nice pictures. Then I say like the other Carthago fans here. We chose Carthago for the quality that it feels when you drive it and when you step into it and just be in it. But the taste is divided like the cake 😉 And you have to shop according to your wallet and not make yourself bare just because I should have the "best" motorhome. Now we think differently and have different amounts of money. We are definitely not self-employed, but life is too short and we have been looking for a motorhome like the one we have now for a while. And now we are happy owners of a Carthago chic e-line. 🙂 You do a fantastic job of commenting on everyone who writes with you ... that you have time? 🙂 Hugs to you

Peter Bergström says:
Matts Torebring: There is a lot to do and video takes even more time now. We are trying and you know it:-).
Gun: I agree and my post tomorrow is about that.
Deciree: Hello there! We want this contact with you because we think it's fun. It's a good thing we have different opinions because otherwise everyone would have travelled in Karthago, haha. Karthago sold very well at the Kista fair and business is going brilliantly for them. I myself think the motorhome is cosy but completely wrong for us. I will write about it more tomorrow. Greet Kjell and a thousand hugs.
