Lovely spa hotel in Gozo! During our stay on the island of Gozo in Malta, we stayed at the Ta Cenc Hotel, located in the southern part of the island. This spa hotel in Gozo offers a relaxed and peaceful environment with pools, beautiful surrounding nature and good food. Follow us in pictures and text to a great spa hotel in Gozo!

Peaceful environment at Gozo spa hotel
The main thing you notice when you arrive at the hotel is the calm and peaceful environment. Outside the hotel area you can see green nature, flowers and the sea. Inside the grounds are several pools and large areas where you can sit and relax among trees and flower beds.
Room with private access to the pool
One thing I like about this hotel is that it is only a single floor. Our room was located with its own exit to our small patio, and to the pool. The rooms are quite ordinary, but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom excellent.
A funny thing is that every day at 4pm the staff come and ask if they "should make the bed". I don't mean cleaning and making the bed, they've done that before. No, they remove the bedspread and decorative pillows and prepare the bed for you to sleep in it ...
Spa
When Peter was away testing diving in Malta - what do you think I did then? Tried the hotel's spa of course! There is a whirlpool and a heated pool that starts indoors, but continues out through the wall so you can swim directly under the open sky. I really liked this one!
There is also a sauna and treatments. I actually tried a shoulder and face massage. Really good when, like me, you tend to get tense and get headaches!
What about food?
Food in hotels can be a bit boring sometimes, so we didn't have high expectations. But the dinner we had at the hotel was excellent. We started with a creamy vegetable soup that was soooo good. For the main course we chose swordfish with vegetables and boiled potatoes. Well cooked and good! Then we finished with an apple and strawberry pie.
What is a luxury hotel for you?
This hotel was luxury for us! Not because it's the most modern high tech hotel we've stayed in, but because you can enjoy the silence, the peace and the beautiful nature. And at the same time have access to a spa and a good restaurant. What is a luxury hotel for you?

Goatfish says:
I think this hotel, as you describe, sounds excellent and luxurious to me. Of course there are higher luxuries, but the personal touch is important.
I have never seen the staff preparing for the night 😀 was it good or not?
Signage Sunday hug ?
09 April 2017 - 9:35
Helena says:
Agree that the personal is important! That thing about getting ready for the night ... well, it felt pretty unnecessary I thought 😉 It didn't matter, but I would have easily managed to do it myself ....

Mr Steve says:
What a lovely place. Silence, peace, beautiful nature and a good restaurant. I also see that as a luxury. However, I can do without the "preparing the bed for the night" thing.
09 April 2017 - 9:58
Helena says:
I think you have that luxury at Getingstorp too 🙂 Except for the restaurant possibly, but you have D 🙂 .

Ama de casa says:
A luxury hotel for me is spelled "Parador". Haha! No, there are many factors that come into play, and the biggest luxury is probably the one of living "in the middle of the pack" 🙂.
Your accommodation looked fantastically nice 🙂
09 April 2017 - 10:00
Helena says:
Living in the middle of the pack can also be a luxury, when that's what you're looking for. I agree!
09 April 2017 - 10:48
Ama de casa says:
That thing about getting ready for the night, that "luxury" you get even in cruise cabins. But they don't ask - they just do it. And then they also leave a piece of chocolate on the pillow (sometimes with a note that they intend to break or give back an hour). When we happen to be inside the cabin when it's time to make up the bed, we usually say that we "can do it ourselves" 😉 But the chocolate piece - of course I take it anyway 😀.
09 April 2017 - 10:05
Helena says:
Maybe it's us who are not so used to luxury hotels ... 😉 Maybe we should have complained that we did not get a piece of chocolate 😉 Haha, no kidding. The hotel was nice and we enjoyed it very much!

Seija Viitamäki-Carlsson says:
So comfortable, beautiful and delicious. Thanks for the presentation and the tip.

Helena says:
Great if you want peace and quiet! Would have liked to stay a few more days 😉.
09 April 2017 - 11:23
Marina says:
So cosy! It sounded very luxurious and good I think. The hotel we stayed at now when we were away was also "prepared for the night", heavenly luck so we understood that we should crawl down where the duvet was folded up and not lie on top...;)
09 April 2017 - 10:30
Helena says:
Haha, yes it's too good that you get that help! 😉
09 April 2017 - 16:20
Lennart says:
Seems cosy!

Ditte says:
How nice you have it! Make sure you enjoy it!
Sounds like a hotel completely in my taste. I like personal hotels that are in the smaller format and where each guest means something, so I usually like the so-called boutique hotels. The big chains abroad such as HIlton, Shetaton, Marriott and others are usually very comfortable but oh so boring and impersonal.
We last encountered this in Krakow and I think it is more common in boutique hotels. I'll keep the hotel in mind if there are more visits to Malta. I have visited Gozo a few times and always enjoyed it.
09 April 2017 - 17:21
Helena says:
It's nice to have more personalised hotels! This hotel was indeed quite large, but there is still a different feeling when it is located in the countryside like this, in a quiet environment.
09 April 2017 - 17:55
BP says:
What an oasis! I would say that such a hotel means luxury to me too. Because high-tech hotels are fun to check out, but often too designed. So this place gets an MVG from me:-)
09 April 2017 - 18:54
Helena says:
We would have liked to stay a bit longer ... 😉 ...

Being able to get a cup of coffee at any time and a good breakfast, that's the most important thing besides decent beds and location. In a big city, the location is often most important, we like to eat breakfast outside. Like you, I think that hotels that are personal are the nicest, unfortunately there are larger chains that do not know what service is.
09 April 2017 - 21:13
Helena says:
I also like a good breakfast 🙂 And in a big city, I agree that location is one of the most important things!

Hello again! So much fun that we met at Arlanda today, the world is all good small! Oh, we have to thank BP who knew that we both went to Malta just this weekend!
What a lovely hotel you have stayed in, looks fantastic!
With age, I have become comfortable, and want a good hotel room, in fact, we stayed in a hostel the first time when we went to visit the son in Malta, it's about money too....hihi!
Hugs and sleep well!
10 April 2017 - 1:09
Helena says:
Yes, so much fun that we met in the end! And really thank you to BP, she has control!!! 🙂 Of course you get more comfortable with the years. But what you choose also depends on what you can afford to spend of course !!!!
10 April 2017 - 6:01
Across the board says:
Clean and tidy, fresh bathroom and comfortable beds and a good breakfast buffet it feels luxurious. Roughly as you describe it all 😀
10 April 2017 - 8:19
Helena says:
I agree! A good breakfast buffet doesn't have to be huge in my opinion, but it should be fresh and tasty 🙂.
