Now we have arrived at our campsite in Germany. Yesterday morning we started early by walking around the campsite in Trelleborg and checking out which motorhomes were "with us". Soooo nice to meet a bunch of happy and comfortable motorhome drivers who were excited about the trip to Wismar. At seven o'clock we rolled towards the ferry ...
Ferry Trelleborg - Rostock
After driving from Stockholm to Trelleborg it was time to take the ferry. We had booked the trip with StenaLine, but still travelled over with TT Line. The two ferry lines seem to have some kind of agreement with each other ...
We travelled on the ferry Huckleberry Finn and unfortunately can't say it's particularly exciting, although it's perfectly ok for transport across to Germany. In the morning, a breakfast buffet was served and the last hour a (rather boring) lunch buffet. Otherwise, not much happened. Luckily we had the company of 22 nice and happy motorhome drivers!
Ostsee camping in Germany
When we finally arrived in Rostock in Germany, it was time for some shopping in the Border Shop and to roll towards the airport. Baltic Sea campsite outside Wismar. This has been a day full of experiences and interesting meetings. I wish I had taken more photos, but we have been busy talking to people and organising the trip, and photography has simply taken a back seat....
Last night we spent the evening at the campsite (in the rain) and at the campsite's restaurant Oase. Today we are off to the big party in Wismar!

Mr Steve says:
Of course, boring ferries and rain are also part of motorhome life. But, what does it matter when there is a party coming up.

Travelling by daytime ferry to Germany can almost be a nightmare. What to do? Talk to 15 German drivers, just look out, or like you for the better. Socialise. Have a nice trip!

Helena says:
Haha, yes it can be boring. This time it went better because we had many to talk about 🙂 .

BP says:
These ferries are only for transport and not for pleasure cruises directly so... But heavenly powerful with 11 motorhomes that one by one roll on board and which "belong" to you. Really cool!
Hope you have better weather in Wismar in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed!
18 August 2017 - 18:30
Helena says:
Of course it was cool to ride a whole bunch that way 🙂 So far there has been a lot of rain actually ... but we have had a good time anyway 😉 .

Hope you have a great time in Wismar. But why boring and expensive drinks in the Border shop instead of good and cheap drinks bought in the local shops inside Germany?
19 August 2017 - 9:59
Helena says:
Thank you very much! You definitely have a point! It was mostly about how easy it was to stop there on the way to the campsite and easy to park with so many motorhomes. Agree with you otherwise.
19 August 2017 - 10:29
Ama de casa says:
Ooops... The pictures don't seem to want to arrive here in a reasonable time... But it sounds really nice with a bunch of motorhomes and a party going on 😀.
