What is it that has landed? Suddenly there is a Swiss igloo on Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm, and on Tuesday we were invited to the igloo for a Swiss "After Ski". Today is already Friday, and we take the opportunity to tempt you with some crazy Swiss cheese specialities. In addition, we are preparing for Saturday's dinner when we have guests and will offer a whole range of dishes ...
Why an igloo on Norrmalmstorg?
I have no idea why an igloo, but I guess it symbolises Switzerland as a winter and skiing destination. The Swiss Chamber of Commerce is the organiser and we were invited by Adrien who arranged the trip to Switzerland. Switzerland last summer (and who now turned up wearing slalom boots). We also met several friends from the world of blogging and journalism. Great fun!
According to the programme, it's open to the public from today until Sunday, with wine and cheese tastings, Swiss food and 'After Ski' with DJs. So if you happen to be passing by Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm you can check it out!
Raclette and cheese fondue
If you followed our trip to Switzerland last summer, you may remember that we tried the Swiss speciality raclette. The dish consists of raclette cheese, which is melted and eaten with small boiled potatoes, pickled cucumbers and pickled onions.
We liked both the cheese and the accompaniments, but after a number of portions of cheese we thought it was a bit too much. for a lot of ... cheese. However, as a mingle food it was perfect - really good to eat raclette again!
Another Swiss speciality is cheese fondue. Not surprisingly, that poster behind the gentlemen in the picture reads "The air. The earth. The grass. The cheese." It's no coincidence that the cheese is included, so to speak! Cheese fondue consists of melted cheese mixed with white wine, in which you dip pieces of bread. What did it taste like? Like white bread dipped in melted cheese, sort of. I actually prefer raclette!
Happy Friday!
Friday at last! We have worked hard all week and Peter has also started practising driving with his youngest son Billie. We are happy about that, of course, and now we are preparing for Saturday's dinner, when we will have four guests and will offer a lot of different dishes ... What has been the best part of your week?

We also have raclette now and then, but rarely with anything other than a good ham and various vegetables. As I said, it is easy to have too much cheese. But you can distribute the graces as you want them.

You can decide how you want to make it and what accessories you can have! If you have a few more accessories, it can be more appropriate with cheese 😉.

A nice addition to the metropolitan pulse. Agree that it can be too much...cheese.
Sounds like an exciting dinner for your guests tomorrow.
The best thing that has happened at Getingstorp this week is that we have now put the garden to bed for the winter. Now it, and D, get some much-needed rest.

Then we hope the garden is feeling ready for winter! Wishing you a nice weekend!

Haha, you can tell Switzerland that they need to get an igloo in Helsinki too 😉.

We have guests tonight and make it easy for us with raclette. Here in Provence, the cheese is always available. But we eat different kinds of charcuterie with it, so it is a good mix of meat, potatoes and cheese in the right amount. BW or Bon Weekend as they say here!

Raclette is available in the shops here too. However, you must have a raclette iron 😉 It sounds good with some different accessories! Wishing you a really nice evening!

A Swiss-style igloo is always nice. And Norrmalmstorg may need to be brightened up.
Fun with guests, and it's fun to figure out what to serve.
It has been a good week, where friends, various restaurant visits, lovely autumn walks and travel thoughts mixed with some work have spiced up extra. And of course that my body is now starting to recover from the sun damage course.
Wishing you a great weekend!

It's nice to have dinner guests and cook up some party favours. This will probably be a day out in the Alcazar de San Juan with all the boys. So here are some snacks such as cheeses and jamon.
Cheese fondue has never been my thing. I love cheese, but just dipping bread in cheese fondue...
Otherwise I like meat fondue?
Nice invitation to the Swiss igloo with cheese and wine tasting. Never wrong to taste new products// nice weekend

What a fun idea with an igloo on Norrmalmstorg! Switzerland seems to want to "break into" the Swedish tourist market, where the country has strong competition from France and Austria, especially in winter.
I love raclette, but cheese fondue is far too rich and somewhat tasteless for me. Love the 1980s "trend" of meat fondue though.

Yes, they do have some competition to fight against! But they are creative when they show themselves 🙂.

This with cheese is probably not for my male owner because he is not fond of cheese and seafood, he does not know what he is missing...?
The best thing for me this week has been when I realised that I would once again get out for a walk because I noticed when the owners started filling the fridge this week. Then I was happy when I left during the afternoon today and now I'm standing here, in the rain with the heating on and the owners enjoying themselves with the TV on in the background.

Hehe, funny thing! Like a crash-landed spaceship in the square 🙂.
The best thing about my week has probably been that I had a reasonable pace of work (and not hysterical as it usually is) and got a lot done. And that I bought a new car...!
