1. Konopiste Forest Castle, Czech Republic

Forty miles south of Prague, hidden in the woods, is Konopiště Castle. We arrived here at dusk and had a magical experience among deer and rose gardens, as darkness closed in and a strange 'moaning' sound grew in intensity.

2. Carcassonne, France

Located between Toulouse and Narbonne in the south of France, Carcassonne is actually a fortified city with a history dating back to both Roman and medieval times. When the city was renovated in the 19th century, it was given its characteristic roofs, which are also recognised from the game of the same name.

3rd Baranów Sandomierski, Poland

In south-eastern Poland, not far from the border with Ukraine, we found Baranów Sandomierski Castle. This Renaissance castle was built in the 16th century and is famous for its beautiful staircase, which looks like it's straight out of a fairy tale.

4. sago castle Neuschwanstein, Germany

Neuschwenstein Castle is located in Bavaria in southern Germany and was built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century. The fact that this castle was used as a model for Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle is not hard to understand! What's more, almost every room is decorated with a theme, such as Tristan and Isolde.

5. Chateau Lednice, Czech Republic

Located south of Brno in the Czech Republic, Chateau Lednice must be one of the most magnificent castles we've ever seen. It was the Liechtenstein family who once had this "little" residence as their summer holiday home. The family was unfortunately forced to leave the palace, but apparently there was no need for them anyway.

6. Malbork, Poland

Malbork is Poland's largest castle - an almost impregnable fortress with moats, drawbridges and solid walls. This medieval fortress was built by the Teutonic Order in the 14th century, and here you can learn about the exciting technical solutions for comfortable living.

7. Mont St Michel, France

Mont St Michel may actually be a monastery surrounded by ramparts, but the feeling is that of an impregnable castle. Situated on the Normandy coast, this fascinating structure is positioned so that originally, before the bridge was built, it could only be reached at low tide...!

8th Kozlowka Palace, Poland

In eastern Poland, Kozlowka Palace is a rococo and neoclassical palace built in the first half of the 18th century. In the middle of the Polish countryside, you will find a fascinatingly beautiful palace... and a collection of uranium glass!
