What are your top tips for pitches and campsites in 2018?
Which of these services do you use and what are your experiences? Or do you have tips on completely different catalogues, search services or apps for finding pitches and campsites?
Britt-Marie Lundgren says:
Yes, there are plenty of ways to find a place to stay.
We load the Ställplatsguiden, Bordatlas and the ACSI catalogue in paper form.
Then we add a couple of apps, including Promobil.
Before longer journeys, like our Croatia trip, we often read some blogs including yours and take note of tips on good campsites (probably we will use some of your experiences).
After all, the charm of motorhome life is that you don't have to plan so meticulously, plans are made to change...

I agree that it is nice not to have to plan everything! And maybe that's why it's perfect to have a few different lists and apps with you 🙂.

Travel Linda says:
Great list, we'll check it out. We have invested in Bordatlas as many people speak so highly of it. We also have some apps, but haven't found a favourite yet. I guess many of them can be useful in different countries and regions. Hope to make good use of them and maybe weed out some during the summer.

Helena says:
We have had a lot of use of Bordatlas. In terms of apps, we have mostly used CamperContact ourselves, which we like.

Mr Nils-Åke Hansson says:
Campercontact app and talking to other motorhome travellers. That's how I made my way through Europe.
28 March 2018 - 7:47
Helena says:
Talking to other motorhome travellers is perhaps the best tip of all 🙂.

I use two apps, Ställplatser and park4night. The latter has worked well when travelling in Europe. Some help is also available in the GPS. I will have to look into your tips. You can never get too much help in finding sites. This year I'm planning to head for the Basque region in northern Spain.
Have a great summer on the roads and drive carefully!

Thanks for the tips Bosse! I'll check out park4night, maybe it's something to add to our list?

I don't have a motorhome, but as for places, it is very important to get personal tips and advice from others who have been there and to test and see. a little "new". Much like when you are out on a boat and looking for overnight places or places where you want to stay longer. You want good tips, but you also don't want to be met by "overcrowded" places where you stand/lie too close.
You have a lot of experience in many places and can be a great help to many people going out.

Anna says:
Great tips, thanks! I am happy to use tips from other motorhome travellers. But also hope we can find new exciting places that we can share. I have made a map that I share on my blog where we enter (and will enter many more when motorhome life begins) all the places we have been to and what we liked about them.

My tip would be hotel camping 😀.

Yes, you always find new places that become another favourite.

Mr Lars Permelin says:
A great summary of the options available when you need to find overnight accommodation for your trip. In Sweden I mainly use the web app Husbilsplats.se with over 2000 motorhome sites. I also like the IGO Navigation app where you can download several different databases of motorhome sites and have everything in one place. For your compilation of campsites and pitches in Europe, I suggest these add-ons (apps): park4night, YouCamp EU and Campervan Guide.

Mr Christer says:
The Motorhome Club also has a fairly extensive list of pitches.
Of course, you need to be a member to access it.
