Good sound in your motorhome - stereo and speakers

Of course, we want good sound in the motorhome. Now we've got a new stereo and we also want a real speaker. We have installed a 15″ Mutant bass speaker with Pioneer's 300 W power amplifier. It was a lot of work, but now we will have good sound!

Bass speaker in the motorhome

As it is difficult to fit a full bass box inside the car, we have mounted the bass speaker under the bed at the back of the car. This meant we had to build a bass box at the back, in the garage. As we didn't want to take up too much of the garage space, we ended up with a fairly flat, but large, bass box running along one wall. We had been advised to fill the box with air-packed pillow stuffing, so that's what Peter is doing in the photo...

When we started the car afterwards and turned on the music, we got really good sound, but when we raised the volume, the bass hit so hard that everything loose in the motorhome shook, haha.

New stereo/GPS

We also got a new stereo/GPS. This job took almost five hours! Not only do we have to get everything connected correctly, but we also have to push the tangle into a few centimetres of the car's interior, where we can't reach with our hands!

In addition, cables for the ipod and mobile phone had to be installed and hidden. It is fortunate that Peter has assembled stereos before. I myself assisted the operation by handing out various instruments: "tape", "knife", "screwdriver". It's amazing that everything ended up with a working stereo and a GPS. Now there is definitely no room for another cable!

When we stand still and listen to music, it's a different system. Then we play music from our laptop, with separate speakers. We use this stereo when we are driving.
