It's important to take the opportunity to do what you want while you can and are healthy. My colleagues told me yesterday about friends who have had the misfortune to fall ill. Young and middle-aged people who have been affected by various forms of cancer or other diseases. There is really nothing that can be taken for granted and one should not take life or health for granted.

You never know what will happen

Some people have to take heavy medication with side effects every day or are stuck in hospital with tubes and drips. Others have to wait for surgery or treatment, and may have an uncertain prognosis.

This has been said before, of course, but it's worth thinking about from time to time. Being healthy is not something you can take for granted. If there is something you want to do in your life, you have to take advantage of it while you are healthy and have the chance. But you never know what will happen later in life.

What do you dream about?

So what do you dream of? Travelling to Japan, cycling to Cape Town, working in a new industry, writing a book, or maybe learning to tango? Yes, but do it now! Or at least start thinking about how it might be possible to realise it.

Of course, there can be obstacles such as lack of time or money. But still, I think many times the main obstacle is the lack of courage, the fear of changing the familiar and safe to something new and uncertain.

After all, you only have one life! So if you dream of something, you might as well try it. Many people have succeeded in unexpected things just because they dared to try!
