Can you take a motorhome to China? I have been to China twice. The first time I flew there. The second time, Peter and I took the train. You can probably guess how we would like to go there now... Traditionally, motorhomes are used in Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. But why do you have to do what you've always done? Is it possible to take a motorhome to China?

Motorhome outside Europe

As soon as you mention that you would like to take your motorhome outside Europe, people raise a warning finger. On the other hand, people thought we were crazy when we went on holiday to Ukraine last summer too, so we don't listen too much ...

One of the problems with driving outside Europe is that the roads can be poor. Another problem is that it can be difficult to find places to stay safely overnight. So yes, there are problems! But does difficult have to equal impossible?

To Asia in a Saab

Another interesting phenomenon is that they actually manufacture motorhomes in China. So the question is where do the Chinese go in their motorhomes? China is an amazing country, with an ancient culture and at the same time modern and high-tech development. In the different provinces there is both fantastic nature and an interesting food culture. Together we have visited Beijing and the Great Wall of China.

The first time I (Helena) was in China, I also visited Xian with its fascinating terracotta army and Guilin with its incredible sugarloaf mountains. But I'm sure China has much more to offer than that! Now it remains to be seen if we can experience it by motorhome, or some other way ...
