We are now planning the itinerary for this summer's European trip. We start in Stockholm on 2 July and drive down to Denmark, where we take a ferry across to Germany. We then continue through Germany and pass Austria to reach northern Italy.
Rural and urban areas
We've heard from many people that Lake Garda is beautiful and we want to visit the vineyards in the Valpolicella Valley. On the way back, we will pass through Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Our hope is both to experience the diverse nature of the countryside and to visit interesting cities such as Vienna, Prague, Krakow and Warsaw. We plan to get home by ferry from Gdansk and be back in Stockholm around 4 August.
Our family
Those of us starting from Sweden are me (Helena), Peter and Peter's son Billie (13 years old). Billie's 14-year-old cousin may fly down to Italy and join us after the first two weeks. It will probably be more fun for Billie if he has company and it works well for us because we have room in the campervan.
This is actually one of the great things about having a motorhome - it's easy for us to take both one and two guys with us, without too much extra cost. For example, the campervan allows us to cook our own food, which makes a big difference on a holiday!
