Italian playa - Sabbiadoro near Lignano

Now we are in the Italian playa, at a campsite called Sabbiadoro, outside Lignano on the Italian coast. It looks a bit like the Canary Islands. A long fine sandy beach packed with people, sunbeds, parasols, inflatable crocodiles, pedal boats and windsurfing boards. Along the beach are high-rise hotels and restaurants.

Sunbathing in the Italian Playa

We have been sunbathing and swimming both yesterday and today. The beach is long and nice and there are plenty of water activities for those who want to: pedal boats with slides, jet skis and banana boats for example. It is very close to walk from the campsite to the beach, and it is also close to walk to the small centre where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

It is not far from many more cosy places on this side of Italy. We have Venice and lots of great places around Slovenia.

Almost time for departure

Tomorrow we will leave again. Then we will take the road through Austria word Czech Republic. We hope to be able to update the blog as soon as possible, but it remains to be seen what the possibilities are for connecting to the Internet in Eastern Europe. So far, most large campsites have offered Internet access for a few euros per half hour or hour. But we may not be able to expect that luxury in the future...

Broken hatch in motorhome

Another problem we have to deal with is that the lock to one of the doors in the garage has broken. We can't get into our technical room at the moment, which means we can't access things like extra electrical cables, the water hose for refilling water and... tools. Since we can't get to the tools, it's also difficult to do anything about the lock... We've managed to buy a new lock at Adria outside Venice and tomorrow we'll have to find either a workshop or a shop that sells tools....
