Now we have arrived in the Czech Republic and the Konopiste campsite in Benesov. We arrived here the day before yesterday, and so far we have only seen a total of two motorhomes. Germany and Italy were full of motorhomes, where are they now? Does no one dare to come here, to the Czech Republic? And the Czechs themselves, aren't they camping?
Czechs go camping
Yes, the Czechs go camping! They have tents, rent cottages or cart around the most interesting versions of little rickety caravans from the 60s. A silver favourite was on our campsite yesterday, we've attached a picture of it!
Camping Konopiste
Yesterday we stayed at a campsite in Konopiste in Benesov, just south of Prague. It was a rather simple but quite ok campsite. Today we have moved to a slightly more expensive campsite closer to Prague called Sokol. The promised pool looks more like an outdoor bathtub, but otherwise it is an excellent campsite with staff who speak English.
Peter and I also managed to sneak away for a while during the day and have a Pilser Urquell and a good salad in a cosy restaurant in a park outside. Tomorrow we will try to get to the centre of Prague by local bus and metro. Since we heard from our friends in Sweden that a terrible storm is passing Poland right now, we will probably stay in the Czech Republic for a few days before continuing towards Poland ...
