The trip around Europe can be summarised as enormous fun. There was never a time when we were unsafe, for any robbery or the like. It seemed almost ridiculous that we installed a safe, but this is done so that there is not even a small risk of losing our passports, for example. The only time we showed them was when we were going home on the ferry between Poland and Sweden. There are no borders left, you hardly know when you enter a new country.

By motorhome in Eastern Europe
There was probably some thought in eastern Europe that what happens if I get a flat tyre or the engine starts acting up? They're not great at English, so how do we explain that we might need a tow truck? But with sign language, it's probably possible.
All the people we met in Czech Republic and Poland we found them to be more humble and friendly than many other places in Europe. If you only go to caravan parks or campsites in the east, you are really safe. In addition, food, drinks and campsites are half the price.
Polish cities
We visited Krakowwhich is a very beautiful city. We also fell in love with Gdansk. The old town in Gdansk is incredibly beautiful and it is really cheap. Half a litre of beer 12 crowns, food for half the price, good and enormous. Nightlife and fine white sandy beaches like in Italy, for miles and yet so close.
Italy
It was also great to enjoy the heat in Italy. We enjoyed very much North Lake Garda. Venice is also very beautiful, but it takes its toll on poor food and is very expensive.
Ferry Nynäshamn - Gdansk
On the way back from Europe we took ferry Gdansk - Nynäshamn. We are not very experienced with motorhomes, we have mostly flown around half the globe, but next year we will start travelling Nynäshamn-Gdansk. The advantage of it is that we who live so close to Stockholm have a 45 minute drive to the boat, and then rest 19 hours as the boat takes to Gdansk.
You can have a good dinner and sleep, get off the boat to a campsite that takes 20 minutes, see Gdansk and swim for two or three days and have time to unwind. That will be our modus operandi next year. The boat costs a lot, but we think it'll even out and there will be less driving.
I (Peter) was very exhausted when we left, so it was hard to drive down into Europe, it's 170 kilometres just to Austria, so it felt like it. So if you calculate petrol, 780 SEK to get across the Öresund, and the boat between Rödby-Puttgarden 700 SEK, then it becomes a penny, as well as a parking space on the road.

God what an interesting blog you have! 🙂
I had planned to drive around the world after graduation... Do you have any good tips on what to consider? An obvious question too, about how much does it cost per person to travel around?
And how well planned should the trip be?
Thank you in advance 🙂

Thank you very much! It sounds great to drive around the world after graduation, where do you want to go? It's not easy to give such general tips, but maybe some things...
You have to think about security. There is always a risk of being stolen or robbed, so it is good to think about how to store valuables, what to do if your credit card is stolen, where to park your car safely, etc. But at the same time, don't get too scared! Most of the people you meet are actually friendly, and after a bit of sensible security thinking, you shouldn't worry too much!
How much it costs per person to travel is impossible to answer! It depends on which countries you are travelling to and whether you intend to stay in a hotel or a tent, etc... But don't forget to include things like insurance, vaccinations, tolls, etc.
When it comes to planning, everyone thinks differently. I think it's good to be informed about the countries you're travelling to, have guidebooks with you and some ideas about what you want to see and do. But then I think it is nice not to have booked anything but to be able to take it as it comes!
Then I think it's important to have fun, be curious and dare to talk to people you meet, even if it has to be in sign language sometimes if you don't speak the same language... 😉.
Hope you get to go on an exciting journey after graduation!
