Vacker natur på Gålö i Haninge kommun

If you want to get out into nature, without travelling so far from Stockholm, we can really recommend Gålö. Gålö Havsbad is located about 3.5 kilometres south of Stockholm, in Haninge municipality. There is a nice campsite and the opportunity to walk in the forest, fish, swim and ski, depending on the season of course. According to the information brochure, you can also hire a bicycle, boat or horse.

We walked "Lilla Gålöslingan" two days in a row. This is a 4.5 kilometres long walking path, which sounds like a pretty easy match. We won't say it was overly challenging, but it was definitely a walk in terrain.

You had to climb up cliff edges, jump over logs, crouch under tree branches and balance among roots and rocks. So it was a pretty good exercise tour anyway! All the time we had to walk through beautiful nature and very often along the water, with great views.

Mushrooms, berries and snakes

We made several nice and some less nice finds in the forest. Among the nice finds we can count chanterelles, Karl Johan mushrooms and blueberries. Love to make such finds! The less pleasant finds include two vipers and three ticks. I don't like snakes, but they lay very still and seemed uninterested in us, so it was really just to pass by.

We also saw a hare in the forest. But we didn't meet any people. It is of course different in high season, but right now it felt like we had nature to ourselves. This was a very nice walk through beautiful nature, which we can definitely recommend if you come here!

Gålö sea baths and camping

We stand on campsites with a motorhome, but there are also cottages for those who prefer it. You stand nicely on grass, and from here you are close to the beach, nature, service centre and reception. There is electricity in most places that we can see, and also water.

We arrived at the campsite after the reception was closed, but we called on the way and the staff put a key in the letterbox. This means we can access both electricity and the service centre. It seems that there may also be a restaurant here if you come in high season, but now nothing like that is open.
