At least if you believe National Geographic Traveler. 437 invited experts were asked to vote, resulting in a list of 133 destinations. The votes were based on factors such as pollution, cultural authenticity and tourism management.
The top 10 on the list
- Norway's fjords
- Kootenay/Yohoo National Park, Canada
- Gaspé Peninsula, Quebec, Canada
- South Island, New Zealand (picture)
- Old Kyoto, Japan
- Vermont, USA
- Slovenia
- Kakadu National Park, Australia
- Granada and Alhambra, Spain
- Bavarian Alps, Germany
Have you been to any of these places? Do you agree? We don't know about the others, but we can definitely agree that both the fjords of Norway and the South Island of New Zealand are fantastic places! In the picture we are with a rented motorhome at Mount Cook.
