Are you keen to go abroad this winter but need to save money? Here are 10 tips for a cheaper holiday. We found these tips in a Travel Guide article and have shortened them.
- Compare the options - Compare scheduled flights, low-cost flights, last-minute flights, promotions and nearby airports.
- Be flexible - Being flexible with your departure day and time of day can save you a lot of money.
- Avoid bank holidays and public holidays - On public holidays and holidays, prices go up.
- Travelling in low season - If you don't mind it being a bit quieter and a few drops of rain, you can get both cheaper travel and cheaper hotel rooms.
- Package the trip yourself - It's important to compare, but you can often get a cheaper trip if you package your hotel and flights yourself.
- Discounts and benefits - Are you a student or a pensioner? Or do you have other discount cards? Check what you can use on the spot!
- Pay by card - Many banks and card companies charge a fee for withdrawing money abroad. Pay by card and avoid the fee!
- Shop local and cook for yourself - Choosing self-catering accommodation and cooking some meals yourself is a hot savings tip.
- Get off the tourist track - Restaurant prices are often much lower if you go off the beaten track. Go for places that are popular with the locals!
- Try couchsurfing - Stay at the home of someone who offers their sofa for free.

HEY!
Oh how nice that you looked at my page, and how wonderful that I found your page!
We are new motorhome owners, have previously spent the summers in our boat, but we sold it and it became a small cheap motorhome instead. Now we dream, and hope to have many nice little trips in it.
It is old and "used" so to speak - no beauty but with time it will be something bigger and newer!
I will probably look in here several times and add you to my links if it goes well!
