Have you come across messages on the Internet congratulating you on winning a trip? You might not think that you can be scammed by an online travel lottery, but maybe it can happen ...
Timeshare
Freelance journalist Johanna Stenius has written a great article on the timeshare phenomenon, which you can read here. here. Among other things, Johanna explains that there are links between travel lotteries and the timeshare industry. the I have experience with.
Timeshare in Gran Canaria
In Gran Canaria we were offered to spend a day in another hotel to, as they claimed, hopefully choose that hotel next time. Once there, we were pushed around in long sales meetings, and when we didn't want to buy, they got annoyed. We didn't have time to visit the beach until the sun went down... Have you experienced travel lotteries or Timeshare?
sandra "piik" says:

Yes Timeshare also happened to us on the GC. Even our acquaintances happened to it! Well, we got a lot of bottles of champagne for the "trouble" but it tasted like sh*t, frankly :-/
Read in the newspapers here on the island fairly recently about people who call you and say that you have won a travel lottery and are so enthusiastic and sound very credible.
Until people start pulling their ears off when they want a lot of information about everything under the sun, then they become rather annoyed.
You should probably be on your guard and check and check up, even if you're just shopping online...we've noticed.

Timeshare is as common a problem as travel lotteries, I've noticed, and also something people are ashamed to be tricked into. Just recently I got a call from a woman who owed a Norwegian timeshare company over 120,000 kroner and had taken out a text message loan in a panic to pay.
My article on timeshare is also available online, here:

Oh yes in Gran Canaria, God how tiring it was to sit on one of your precious holiday days and listen to their nagging about buying an apartment. ....

Well, at some point you have probably received a message that you have won and I delete it immediately. May receive some reports from those who have been cheated.
Yes, blogging is fun! =)
Have a nice evening.

I go with the concept that if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
However, my one colleague helped transfer the money from one foreign account to another, with a "stopover" in his own account. The only thing was that he "forgot" to forward the money from his account 😉 I asked him if he wasn't afraid they would find him, but he just said -I'm from Calabria, they can try...

Ninni and Gunilla, there seem to be several people who have been affected by Timeshare in Gran Canaria! We also got a lot of free stuff from the Timeshare sellers, but it did not compensate for the lost day on the beach...
🙁
Helly, I don't know what to say... I'm almost surprised that people tell me these things!!!?
