We have had a real "mechanic car" weekend. On Saturday we went to Peter's brother Dennis to install a solar panel together. They have bought a solar panel similar to ours for their motorhome, so we thought we could help.
Solar panel
Now we have finally bought a solar panel for the motorhome! This is a 100 watt solar panel and we had to pay 4900 SEK on Blocket. When it was time to mount the panel, we drove out to Peter's brother Dennis who would also mount the solar panel, and worked together. In the picture below you can see Freedom parked next to Dennis and Lotta's motorhome. (Yes, there is dirt on the windscreen ... we washed it on Sunday!)
Installing a solar panel
Then it was time for Peter and Dennis (pictured) to climb up on the roof of each caravan and mount the solar panel. They screwed on the solar panels, but note that we were told afterwards that they should have done it differently, so check it out!
We had to run the cables quite far on our motorhome to allow them to go down through the roof directly above the battery. Perhaps a shorter route should be used to minimise energy loss.
The solar panel in place
Here you can see our solar panel in place. We've put it at the back, and the cables run forwards through an electrical rail. From there they go down to the sensor and to the battery. It's wonderful that it's in place!

How clever you are to install a solar panel. It makes things easier and is climate-smart!

Congratulations on the new solar panels...we don't have any but we're ready to invest in it.We installed AC last year and everything costs money.

Kersti, I agree! Everything for a motorhome costs money. We usually joke that as soon as you talk about a new thing for the motorhome, you can expect it to cost 10,000 ...
Instead, we haven't got AC yet... It's on our wish list, but it will probably have to wait until next year. As you know, it's not free either...

No Ac was not free damn I think it went for about 18000:- inclucive assembly and then it was when they had the least to do at the workshop
But you have to nibble on something else....food or????

Having read through the above installation, I would like to offer a few tips for those installing solar panels on their motorhome.
Always try to take the shortest route from panel to controller and battery (i.e. use the shortest cable possible to minimise energy loss from the panel).
Think twice about which regulator to choose. Is it enough to see it charging or do you want to know more?

With modern controllers, you can connect separate displays directly to the controller or integrate into your electrical block and use the existing display (e.g. Schaudt LRM1218). It is also possible to choose controllers that you can connect a Bluetooth dongle to get the charging information to your phone.
If you are not sure which parts to choose, consult a retailer or buy complete solar packages to make sure the parts are compatible with each other and tested for their purpose.
Finally, we wish you a pleasant summer!
