Yesterday it was time for horse riding in Idre. I have ridden a lot when I was younger, and think that riding is a fantastic way to experience nature. Peter and Billie have ridden a bit and Pontus once, but all three were positive about today's adventure! We got nice horses and got to follow the guide Mia on a wonderful trip in the forest and on the mountain.
Great horse riding in Idre
The ride went through beautiful green nature, and we had either forest around us or the wide open spaces of the mountains. Even though everyone had not ridden so much before, we had to gallop several times. It was a really lovely trip on horseback and I must also say that it went very well for everyone!
A little drama
Billie's horse got into the habit of backing up sometimes, which she is apparently used to because she is trained for western riding. Suddenly she thought she was going to back up and continued straight backwards until she ended up in a deep ditch.
She fell backwards in surprise and Billie had to throw herself off to avoid having the horse on top of her. I don't know whether it was the horse or Billie who was more frightened. In any case, Billie sat up quickly again. A little drama, but it went well.
Camping in Idre
We are still at Caravan Club's campsite in Idre, which has been a good starting point for our adventures around here. Now that we have had time for both beaver tracking and horse riding while travelling it is soon time for us to move on with the motorhome. This means that we will continue northwards, towards Vindelälven! Now we just wish for a little more warmth, because it's so cold in northern Sweden.
Ferferi in Paris/Gothenburg says:
I've never actually ridden a horse! And it seems almost impossible in Paris to do such a thing too...
