Now we have settled in here at Pite Havsbad. We are nicely situated with our motorhome at the campsite and have had time to learn a little more about this place. Here are some interesting facts for you who might also want to visit Pite Havsbad!
Three more to go
The day before yesterday we dropped Pontus off at Umeå airport, as he is going on to Gotland. The rest of us (me, Peter and youngest son Billie) have continued the journey and arrived at the northernmost point we planned: Pite havsbad. This is a large and very nice campsite, with all imaginable and unimaginable services. It can probably be really nice in good weather, but now it is raining and cold ...
We walk constantly wrapped in jackets and blankets. Northerners wear shorts and T-shirts. How is it possible that they are not cold? At least the evening was beautiful and we could sit outside and play games together, wrapped in thick clothes and blankets.
Brief facts about Pite Havsbad
We are quite fascinated by this campsite we must say! Here are some brief facts, for those who want to know a bit more.
- During July, the sun is up for 23 hours/day in this part of Sweden.
- The most exclusive campsites at Pite Havsbad include electricity, water, sewage, cable TV, sea view and 170-190 square metres of space.
- The sun terrace offers artificial sunshine 365 days a year.
- There is a water park, dome cinema, bowling, adventure golf, playground, dinosaur land, gocart, arcade, funfair, high ropes course and water ski lift.
- Very many campers come from northern Norway
Today we have tried the sun terrace (really nice!) and played both adventure golf and bowling. So there are things to do, in addition to hanging out in the camper vaneven when the weather is not at its best. It has become a little, a little better now, but it is not the time for sea bathing ...

Have found that you have made the most of your free time this summer. First Poland has not been there itself, it is too close. But we manage to get there. And then up to the north with son and mate and done a lot of fun things. And now you are lazy where the sun is.
Thanks for the comments on our blog, it's always nice to read.

Say hello to Piteå from me!
I celebrated my graduation at Piteå Havsbad,
but that was many years ago...
Went to the city's excellent secondary school, Strömbackaskolan.
It's a shame you've had bad weather, but it's been the same all over Sweden for a few days now.
What do you think about the smell of the pulp mills?
I never got used to it during the three years I spent there.
The people of Pite say something like this:
"He lokt barra penninga" (it only smells like money).
As a curiosity, I can mention that you are now 22 kilometres away from my birthplace and where I grew up....
By the way, saw on the weather that the Russian swarm is coming to the
The Norrbotten coast, hope you can get some of it!
Have fun!

The adventure golf course looked awesome! The best course I have played on so far is the one at Böda Sand on Öland but unfortunately it was FULL of people, children, dogs, prams and not to mention half-drunk young people... I cancelled after 6 holes! Nice pictures by the way! 🙂

Anders and Birgitta, a standard pitch at the campsite costs 280 SEK/night + electricity (we used quite a lot of electricity and it was about 30 SEK/day).
Rondine, yes, it's a bit of a shame about the weather... that's what makes holidays in Sweden so difficult. There are many beautiful places, but the weather is always uncertain... The smell from the pulp mills? We didn't really notice it... But we never went into Piteå itself, we only went to the sea baths....
Virrhönan, we can definitely recommend Forsknäckarna for rafting! We got a lot for our money, it was a nice place and they were very nice!
Helly, so you have relatives from Piteå? It's nice in the north, but unfortunately we've had some bad luck with the weather...
Nathalie and Vilja, yes it gets hard when there are too many people. Here it was quite reasonable and the adventure golf was quite fun. A little unusual that it was indoors, but it was ok because it rained a little outside ...
