Finland is the country with the most motorhomes per capita in Europe, with 76 motorhomes per 10 000 inhabitants. Belgium comes second (74) and Germany third (53). Sweden comes fourth with 47 motorhomes per 10 000 inhabitants.
Sweden has the most caravans
However, Sweden leads the caravan league with 291 caravans per 10 000 inhabitants. All this according to the National Association of the Caravan Industry. Expected or unexpected?

Glad you made the list of travel blogs! Sweden really feels like the number one caravan country, even though you see more and more motorhomes on the roads.

It was unexpected, we thought Germany would be in first place.

It was really a surprise. We thought the Germans were the worst in terms of the number of motorhomes.
Our own frivolous research on this is based on the number of motorhomes passing us on the E4 - presumably on their way to the North Cape. There, the Germans lead the pack, followed by the Dutch.

In fact, we also thought that Germany would be at the top! Germany feels like the No. 1 motorhome country. But Germany would probably win if you only looked at the total number of motorhomes. Now they have looked at the percentage of the population, and then it will be a little different we guess ...
