We are in full swing planning our winter travels. We want to do a Christmas trip with Billie (14) and a New Year's trip by ourselves. When travelling as a family, it is important to get everyone's wishes together. We all enjoy travelling, but have slightly different priorities (see below). You also have to take into account finances.
How do you reconcile everyone's wishes?
We thought about winter camping and skiing with Billie, but he had other suggestions... So now we're looking for trips! How do you manage to fulfil everyone's wishes?
Alexandra says:
Haha. Yes, it is not easy to find a solution to everyone's wishes. There are only two of us to consider and I think it can be difficult enough. But for us it will be LA over Christmas and New Year. We were completely united and I am looking forward to it as never before. 🙂

oh, ours are still so small that they hang on wherever we steer the journey. There will probably be other times in a couple of years...but that time, that headache!
Here we have the same wishes, sun, warmth and something new to look at... especially nature.

Go to Dubai! Nice beaches, warm water, great shopping, fun for all of you: jeep safari in the desert (cool and stomach-churning), camel racing, the world's tallest building (actually really cool), and a cosy "old" city among other things.

Alexandra, LA, it sounds like a flashy and nice destination over Christmas and New Year! And wonderful that you agree too
😉
Agneta, yes, it's a little easier to decide when the children are young... Of course, we still make the final decision, but it still feels important to have a 14-year-old on board, if you're going to have fun together on the trip...
😉
Bobo, thanks for the tips! Dubai actually sounds like a perfect destination for us right now. However, it may be that the economy steers us towards a cheaper alternative this time....

Often you can now get very cheap flight tickets to Dubai. And here's a great hotel in the old town that's good and affordable: http://www.royalascothotel-dubai.com

Bobo, thanks again! It didn't end with Dubai, as you can see, but it was on the table and may be relevant at another time!
Tove, sounds great! I just hope that I can find a rabbit in the shop then and not catch one in the yard here outside...
😉
Just Another Crazy Blonde, Asia is nice! But this time we thought we had too little time for such long trips...

There are only two of us and I decide. Hahaha!
No, we reason it out. We like it when there is a lot to look at, to see new places and meet people. Animals and nature are a plus, but also big cities... Well, I don't think there is any place I would NOT want to go, as long as it is "quiet".
Things can happen anywhere, but we try to do our best to avoid troubled countries and regions.
