We have recently read about two similar campervan thefts. Both cases involve young "nice" couples renting a motorhome, but then not returning the motorhome.
Young "nice" couple
Helsingborgs Dagblad reports how the rental company Boj Rental in Klippan was cheated out of an Elnagh motorhome. Smålandsposten reports how Lammhults husbilar was cheated out of an Adria motorhome.
In both cases, a young "nice" couple in their 25s rented a motorhome. In both cases, the guy called to extend the rental period because the girl was "not feeling well". After that, the trail stops. The ID presented has turned out to be fake and the phone number went to a prepaid card. Sounds like organised crime to me. Time for rental companies to watch out!

Of course it is a sad situation, I actually know them. Because they VOLUNTARILY handed over the keys, insurance does not apply. Hmmm, how else do you do when you rent out?! -You have to take the keys yourself from the hook when I look away....?!
If you're wondering how I ended up here, it's because we are in the process of buying a motorhome and searched on various blogs....

Yes, it's incredibly strange! You don't understand how insurance companies can get away with that? With rules like that, no caravan or car hire companies can operate...? Rental means that you actually give the keys to those who are going to rent!!!
Funny that you are about to buy a used motorhome! It is sooo wonderful with a motorhome! We bought ours (used) two years ago, and have not regretted it for a second!
