Yves Saint Laurant came to Marrakech in 1966 and fell in love with the colours and mystique. He bought a piece of derelict land and built a stunning Arabic-style park with water, small bridges, green plants and cacti. He himself lived here, and since his death in 2008 there is a memorial grove for him here. We visited the park and museum yesterday.
A peaceful break from the chaos
A visit to the Jardin Majorell in Marrakech is a peaceful break from the Moroccan chaos outside. There are lots of green plants and in the centre of the green park is a cobalt blue house with strong yellow contrasts.
