Purge, by Sofi Oksanen, is a literary masterpiece. Every now and then you meet writers who can master the language, but mastering the narrative is an art. In this book we meet an old woman in the Estonian countryside. She chases flies and makes pickles. Suddenly she sees a bundle in the garden - is it a person?
History of women and Estonia
And why does this old person, who pickles and juices, carry so much fear? The beast in the garden is not just a man, but a girl who carries the history of both women and Estonia. And who is hunted. This is both a thriller and a historical novel. Read it!

It sounds interesting, love thrillers, will write a reminder note so I don't forget your book tip. Will start but Keppler's book now.

Seems exciting, but it's a pity that it's not available as an mp3 as there is no one who sends books to Singapore from the Swedish online retailers.
So here is the mp3, easy to buy and download + no VAT at home because you live abroad.
Right now I'm also listening to Keppler's latest book, which Leena is also reading and it's great!

Leena, it's a great book, but don't take me too seriously when I write "thriller". The book is a novel, but I thought there was a certain "thriller feel" to the way it was told.
Annelie, mp3 sounds very convenient when you are abroad. So there are whole books to buy and download? We've talked about tablets as an option when you're abroad, but they're still quite expensive.
Instead, I have no idea, but it's on Pocketshop's top list...

I also liked this book very much because it brought Estonia's history into focus. The language is also fantastic.
