Now it's a bit "What did we say?". We have praised Poland time and time again and talked about how nice and affordable it is to camp there. Now the German motoring organisation ADAC has concluded that Poland is the cheapest camping country in Europe.
Poland is the cheapest camping country
The ADAC organisation has compared prices for overnight stays at mid-range campsites in 12 European countries and the results show that Poland is the cheapest. In Poland, an overnight stay costs on average €20.55 for two adults and one child, including electricity and shower.
The survey also shows that Italy is the most expensive (on average €41.3) while Sweden is the fourth cheapest country to camp in after Poland, Hungary and Germany, which doesn't surprise us! We have camped in Poland with our motorhome and found the prices to be very good.
What is it like to camp in Poland?
What is camping in Poland like? Our experience is that it is easy, relaxed and safe to camp in Poland. camping in Poland, albeit somewhat less organised than in Sweden.
Update: We have returned to Poland by motorhome several times since writing this post. Please read our post about travelling with a motorhome in Poland, where we have gathered all the practical information you need to know before travelling by motorhome. Also check out our list of campsites and pitches in Poland, where we've written about all the places we've stayed with our motorhome over the years.

Agree: Poland is an underrated country to holiday in. Cheap and nice people. Warsaw is a large but manageable city with campsites close to the centre. And Krakow is beautiful. Only the traffic is negative I think. They drive like idiots so sharp attention is important. But I'd love to take a campervan there again. Tip: "Vi campar i österled", our book sold via nomadliv.se, has a chapter from Warsaw.

Bobo, agree that traffic requires a lot of attention. Many people drive as if there were no traffic rules at all. Otherwise we like Poland: nice, cheap, nice people, good food.
Sara, it's actually really nice in Poland. The campsites may feel a little more disorganised than in Sweden, but they were excellent. We stayed at quite a few, and were satisfied all the time.
