We are constantly reminded that anything can happen, at any time, when we least expect it. Now a suicide bomber has blown himself and at least 14 tourists to death in the Café Argana in Marrakech's Djema el Fna square.
Bombing in Marrakech
The attack in Marrakech was reported in several newspapers. We were there at Christmas. On the first day of our holiday, we sat down at that very café. Surely there are many more than us who recognise the pictures.
Café Argana attracts the most tourists and has a perfect view of the famous square, so it's easy to end up there. Perhaps the safest thing to do would be to never go outside the front door, but that's also pretty pointless. You just have to realise that you are never safe.

So scary when it comes so "close" and you are unpleasantly reminded that no one is safe ... In a month I'm going to Beijing and it always feels nervous when you are travelling far away, even though something could just as easily happen here at home ... Life is so heavenly fragile, and you can really enjoy every moment you are happy and feel good!

We have also been there.
But how can we ever protect ourselves against the evil of other people? It is still important to believe in the good guys and our ability to survive. Ha dé!

I was just thinking the same thing, I've been there... You never know when you have a suicide bomber around, but some places are more charged than others... for different reasons.
Well, you can't stay at home, I've been told that most accidents happen at home! So I don't know where is the best place to be?

Another reminder to really make the most of life while you can. Watching TV right now and seeing the terrible tornadoes that many have suffered in the US. How small and helpless you must feel when you see the tornado coming closer, how awful.

Morocco is not so popular anymore among motorhome drivers in our circles, easy to understand! Actually thought of you Freedom that you have been there ...

Oh, how awful! I've never understood that. Okay, if you want to die yourself, but why expose innocent people to that?
EN: Really? What fun! Where in Montenegro were you planning to go? What fun that you have done rafting too. You have no pictures from it? Would have been fun to see 🙂

How scary it is with all the attacks...
You shouldn't be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it's hard to know where and when.

LeiaMia, you should take the opportunity to enjoy life when you can. Hope you have a great trip to China when the time comes!
Elisabeth, I agree! You have to believe that most people are good. Otherwise you just become bitter and suspicious of life. You can't protect yourself from the cruelty of idiots anyway.
Katarina, I think you can avoid places that are extremely charged and unsettled at the moment. Otherwise, you have to live and travel, and actually believe that most people are good!
Anders and Birgitta, tornadoes sound scary. Read about an entire caravan being sucked up into the air... It's good that we don't have such nasty storms here.
Lena & Jan, so Morocco is not so popular anymore? Interesting to hear. Otherwise, we have heard that many motorhomes go there.
Travel talk, we haven't planned so carefully yet... The advantage of a motorhome is that you can leave without planning so carefully. But we should probably read up a bit so we know what we want to see. Here you can read and see pictures from the rafting we did in Vindelälven and in New Zealand:

Ama de casa, well if you knew in advance it would be easy. But that's not really how it works, is it?

Sure, it's scary, but at the same time you can't stop living either. You just have to hope that you don't have the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
