On the way home from Gothenburg, we stopped at the Vista Kulle rest area by Lake Vättern. Here we had a fantastic view of the water while we cooked some food. Isn't it wonderful with a motorhome, you change the view when you feel like it and get a lake view when you want it!
Rest area Vista Kulle
The Vista Kulle rest area is located by Lake Vättern, on the E4 motorway in the direction of Huskvarna. You can see the exact location on the map below.
In addition to a fantastic view, you have access to a toilet, disabled toilet, rubbish collection, benches and tables and the possibility to empty the latrine. We like this nice rest area by Lake Vättern and will certainly come back. Have you been to this rest area? What did you think?
Things to see and do in the neighbourhood
From Rastplats Vista Kulle it is not far to Huskvarna, where you can visit the Husqvarna museum and the charming Smedbyn. It is also not far to cosy Gränna, with its candy canes and the interesting Grenna museum where you can learn more about the Andrée expedition. We can also recommend taking the ferry over to the beautiful and peaceful island of Visingsö.

Hello!!! You couldn't have picked a better rest stop, my hometown and where we still have our home and residence is Huskvarna.
In a letter dated Sanna (located between Huskvarna and Jönköping, near Elmia) on 6 September 1899, the author Mark Twain writes:
A walk in the sunset / A walk in the sunset
"I've no business in here-I ought to be outside. I shall
never see another sunset to begin with it this side of heaven. Venice? land, what a poor interest that is! This is the place to be. I have seen about 60 sunsets here; and a good 40 of them were clear and away beyond anything I had ever imagined before for dainty and exquisite and marvellous beauty and infinite change and variety. America? Italy? The tropics? They have no notion of what a sunset ought to be. And this one-this unspeakable wonder! It discounts all the rest. It brings the tears, it is so unutterably beautiful."
