This year it was midsummer at Eköns camping, on the coast outside Valdemarsvik. We went here together with our friends Lena and Rutger and even though the weather was not the best, we had a nice weekend.
Ekön campsite - KustCamp Ekön
Ekön's campsite, or KustCamp Ekön, as it may be called, is located on the coast, outside Gryt. There are over 200 camping pitches and good services in the form of service buildings etc. The campsite is beautifully situated, surrounded by nature, water, rocks and a swimming area. Ekön is a nature reserve and there are plenty of hiking trails for those who are interested.
Midsummer celebrations
Sure, there were some midsummer celebrations at the campsite, but that's not why we came here. We were happy to socialise with our friends and eat good food. It was fine to sit outside and eat the midsummer lunch, even if a little half-rugged weather seems to belong to midsummer ... Or was it someone who took Aftonbladet's "hour by hour" weather guide seriously and drove around the country to find the sun?
In the evening we took out the barbecue. In addition to grilling meat, we grilled potatoes. We boil them first so that they almost are ready, and then we put them on the grill for a little while. Delicious!
Sun, rain and thunder
The weather has been crazy this weekend! One minute it has been glorious sunshine and the next pouring rain. For a while it was pouring with our camping neighbours to the left, while the neighbours on the right could sit and sunbathe ...
We ourselves have repeatedly had to rescue items from the flood waters or try to pour off the water that has accumulated on the awning. We also tried to play Buzz on the Playstation, but were interrupted ... by a heavy thunderstorm.

seems to have had a good midsummer with weather much like we had, some sun and some clouds and some rain showers.

Looks like you had a cosy midsummer. Unfortunately it seems to be part of the bad weather this evening. You can probably count on the fingers of one hand the midsummers that have been sunny and warm.
