On 29 June this year (2011), the Grenna Hamn site will open with an inauguration ceremony at 12:00. The site will have 30 pitches for motorhomes and is located at Gränna Harbour, right next to Lake Vättern and within walking distance of the town centre.

Services at the car park

The site has marked spaces for motorhomes, an emptying station, a payment machine, a barrier for entry and exit, and spaces with electrical connections. This is according to a press release from Husbilsdestination Sverige.

Motorhome destination Sweden

The working group for Motorhome Destination Sweden includes the Swedish Caravan Industry Association (HRF), Swedish Camping Association (SCR), Caravan Club, Kabe Motorhome Club, the Police and the Swedish Transport Agency. We can only comment that we think it is nice to have more parking spaces!

Update: New photos from the car park in Gränna.

Update in 2021: Since we wrote this post about the caravan park in Gränna in 2011, we have had time to visit the beautiful town and the nice caravan park itself. Our experience was that the site was excellent, with good service and good location. In May 2021 we paid 220 SEK/day to stay here. Here are some new photos from the site.

We can also suggest different things to see and do in Gränna. You can of course eat candy canes, but also visit the interesting Grenna museum, where you can learn about the Andrée expedition, or enjoy beautiful nature areas nearby.

We can also recommend an excursion to Visingsö, which offers a peaceful environment, several interesting historical sights and various activities for both children and adults. You can either bring your motorhome (there is a caravan park on the island) or leave it in the caravan park in Gränna harbour and cross over on foot or by bike. Read more here:
