Finally, it was a visit to Italy's number one fashion city - it was time for aperitivo and shopping in Milan! Milan is located in northern Italy, in the Lombardy region, and is a city known for both fashion and football. It is also home to some major attractions, such as Il Duomo Cathedral and the Teatro alla Scala opera house.

New crew in the campervan
Now we have been joined in the motorhome by Peter's oldest son Robin and his girlfriend Alexandra. Very funny! We have made our way back to Milan's city campsite, where we had time to enjoy the sun for a while and then make two trips into Milan. From the campsite you can get into the city quite easily by bus and metro.
Milan
Milan is Italy's second largest city and the centre of one of Europe's largest metropolitan areas. It is home to one of the world's greatest opera stages, La Scala, and is also the international centre of the fashion industry with fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Gianni Versace.
One of the must-see sights is the magnificent cathedral. Il Duomo. We took a photo outside, but there was no view from the roof terrace, because we girls had too short skirts ...
Shopping in Milan
Instead, we decided to do some shopping in Milan! We went to the beautiful Vittorio Emanuele mall, where there are plenty of shops selling exclusive clothing brands. We didn't do much shopping, but we did visit Gucci and Gucci Café (Alexandra's request).
Next, we wanted to do some more (and cheaper) shopping. But it turned out to be almost impossible! The clothes were boring and very expensive. However, we girls were able to find some bargains on the cheap street Via Paulo Sarpio, where all the shops are run by Chinese people. (However, in some of the shops you can't buy single garments because it's solo ingrosso - only wholesalers.) So much for our idea of shopping in Milan ...
Aperitivo
Exhausted and starving, we ended the day with an aperitivo - a drink with snacks, which is apparently served in the evening at most restaurants in Milan. Very nice and tasty! Many times we have thought that everything is expensive in Italy and it is true when you order all meals. It is important to understand the Italian way and what is affordable. Taking an Aperitivo with some snacks is very affordable and very luxurious.

Hello again! How nice you have had it this week we see! Grandiose oldtime view and then city clothes moderno 🙂 .
We landed last night after a sunny week mostly in Västergötland, including a visit to the Sweden trip Mitt Kök on Läckö. Speaking of Italy... looked in countless shops for a Bialetti, in vain... it became a stainless steel Spanish copy in an unexpected shop on the way home. How do you make coffee in Freedom?
Enjoy!
