Here at Milan's city centre campsite, we've been cleaning and doing laundry. Not a cheap pleasure though! They charge 4.5 euros for a washing machine ... If you're lucky with the weather, you can at least hang your washing out to dry and avoid using the tumble dryer, which costs just as much. In any case, we've had a good time and are enjoying some relaxed "alone time".

From the Adriatic Sea to Lake Garda
We drove the motorhome from the coast of the Adriatic Sea to Lake Garda. What traffic jams! The queue from the coast to the toll station to get on the motorway took two hours. Once on the motorway, it was almost impossible to stop anywhere for lunch.
There was not a single rest area except for petrol stations, and every petrol station was packed with cars. Finally, after several failed attempts, we found a corner of a petrol station ...
Camping at Lake Garda
After many hours of driving, we then arrived at the western side of Lake Garda, where we stayed at Camping Piantelle for the night.
A damaged motorhome ladder
Then it was time for Billie and Alvari to fly home to Sweden. Parking a motorhome at Linate airport proved to be more difficult than expected! The parking spaces are tiny and cars are parked everywhere.
After a few fruitless turns when we got a scratch on the alcove, we were referred to the multi-day car park further away. To park there was fine, but it went less good to drive out under the toll station awning ...
Both the roof rack and the ladder at the back were badly damaged. Not fun at all ... Afterwards Peter and I drove towards the central city campsite in Milan. We had the GPS to help us, but it was still a challenge!
Roads without lanes, cars and mopeds driving according to their own rules and cars parked. just everywhere (very inventive car parks sometimes). Now we sit on the campsite and lick our wounds while washing and cleaning the motorhome.
Milan city campsite
Milano citycamping is in a great location if you want to go camping and plan to visit Milan. From here it is relatively easy to get to the city centre by bus and metro. The campsite itself is also perfectly fine.
You stand on nice places in a green environment. There are reasonably fresh service buildings, washing machines, WiFi and a small bar/café. This is a great place to rest before or after a hectic visit to the big city.
Cleaning and laundry at the campsite
What have we been doing? We've been doing things like cleaning and washing. It has to be done sometimes, even when you're travelling. It was convenient to do it here when there were washing machines and we had some time to spare, between the visits of the youngest and the oldest son. Now we were going to have some time alone in Bergamo before we get another visit in the campervan from eldest son Robin and his girlfriend Alexandra.

Good morning! Nice! See that you have safari campers with you too, the ones with the tent on the roof.
I don't remember which one, but this week at a campsite, washing cost the same as the number of degrees, so 40 degrees of washing cost 40 SEK, 60 degrees 60 SEK... but... most of them seem to be included in the camping fee, kudos to them!
Enjoy you both!

Nice to read about your trip. We are going to Croatia at the end of the week. Just have to ask if there have been terrible traffic jams all the time? Have heard that it should be most people "on the move" in August, last year we were out in July and it was perfectly ok. I have not been in Italy for 10 years but it was horribly expensive when we were there, also traffic in abundance so we avoid it this time. How is the weather by the way? On yr.no, it seems like it's raining down there but it doesn't look like that in your pictures... (except for the downpour then 😉 ).

I have to ask something, you who are "used to it" 😉 Do you need any special equipment for your computer to surf wifi, besides a wireless network card? How do you connect, just click on the internet symbol or? Have never had the computer before.

Yes, you need to wash if you're going to be away for a while...
Not fun when it's quite expensive - you can do more fun things, I mean...
Nice to follow you!!!
It's been busy here though, but now I'll get my act together...if I have time - we might have a "baby" tomorrow. 🙂

Might be smart to wash afterwards. Part of the difficulty in keeping the weight limit is probably that we did not wash during the trip but dragged a lot of clothes. Comfortable when you are out, but a lot of laundry when you get home. I think I washed during three days. Have continued good!

Snobben & Co, what funny pricing... We've probably mostly been involved in paying, but then it's been a bit cheaper than this....
NinaKatarina, don't know if you have travelled yet? We have had bad internet for a few days... It has certainly not been terrible traffic jams all the time. We have experienced it on a few occasions, but it has been in Italy, not in Croatia. (Well, in Pula by the way, it was really thick.) The weather is mostly very nice! There has been rain from time to time, but it is usually shorter showers and mostly in the evening/night. You don't need any special equipment to surf WIFI. You go into your computer and search for available wireless networks. (You can find it somewhere under "internet options", "network activities" or similar.) There you can see which networks may be nearby and then you choose one and click "connect". Some are open and you can go straight in. Others are locked and require a password. If the network belongs to a campsite, you can then go and buy a password to surf for a certain period of time, e.g. an hour or a day.
Ninni, "baby"...? I'll have to check your place... We haven't had internet for a few days now...
