We are home again, and everyday life is starting to take over. But of course we remember, and think, what is it that is so nice about motorhoming? But really, we probably already know. We have written it on the car: Freedom.

Freedom in a motorhome
You can stay where you want, or where it happens to be. Sometimes great, sometimes not so great, but always unplanned, always surprising. So how do you get used to living in the same place? When we are really nomads?
Camping in Croatia
A campsite in Croatia, what a view! And yet, this is just the view for the evening, tomorrow it may change ...
Free camping in Italy
We've shown this picture before, but we have to show it again! We were free camping at Lago d'Iseo. This is living!
Freedom in Germany
This evening we were looking for a campsite and we thought we failed. But still: a car park on the Elbe. Freedom! Fantastic!
Krister in Beijing says:
In my "former life" I spent a lot of time with "caravan people" and when they were sitting with the grog in front of the grill at the campsite and a motorhome appeared, the conversation always turned to how much better the caravan is compared to the impractical motorhome.
I got a lot of backlash at the caravan barbecue when I commented that motorhomes are actually much more mobile than unwieldy caravans.
Firstly, I think all these caravan/caravan or Volvo/Saab or iPhone/Android discussions are mainly quite pointless as the choice of product mainly affects only the owner, but it can also be quite fun to hear the fanatic's arguments.

Krister, yes, it can be a bit comical with these almost aggressive arguments. I myself just think that caravans and motorhomes have different purposes and are therefore practical in different contexts.
A caravan is certainly good if you plan to stay in the same place for a long time and may also want to bring a lot of stuff in the form of an awning, etc. Then you can drive and shop with the car etc. and you don't have to move the caravan.
But if you want to move frequently and stay only a few nights in each location, it's a different story. Motorhomes are quicker to pack up and less cumbersome to drive and park. In addition, you can drive as fast as a car. This is a big advantage when travelling long distances, such as down to Southern Europe...
For us, a caravan is not an option, but I fully understand that it could be perfect for many others!

Yes, it is wonderful to motorhome!!!
You take your rolling house and go where the weather is good, where the party is, where you're working or holidaying... see different views whenever you want and meet lots of fun people!

Agreed, motorhomes are wonderful! And we sometimes stay a little longer in the same place (like the caravan people), put up an awning (like the caravan people) but are still very mobile (more than the caravan people) 😉 If you are stationed with an awning, you take the bike to shop or whatever you need to do. We always travel with our four dogs and are a bit limited anyway with what we can do.
And as soon as we come home from a trip over the weekend or longer, we long to go out again .... So yes, we are nomads really ......

I'm also really a nomad, I love travelling, just take the car and go away and see where you end up. Unfortunately, we don't have a motorhome, but last summer we talked a lot about how fun it would be to own one, and not have to hunt for accommodation every day.
