Peter read Three Seconds in the summer of 2009. I remember exactly when he opened the first page. We were on the ferry between Ystad and Swinoujscie at the time, heading down to Europe with the camper van. After just a few lines, he looked up and asked "What is the name of this boat?".
On board the ferry Wavel
"Wavel", I replied. And it's a bit of a funny coincidence ... We were on board the ferry Wavel on our way to ... Swinoujscie. The first page of the book reads as follows.
There wasn't much of a bar, M/F Wavel was one of the largest ferries between northern Poland and southern Sweden, but this, crumbling tables and chairs and four skinny sticks as backrests, you weren't meant to sit there for very long.
Suddenly everyone becomes an enemy
Then it took until this autumn, before I took on the book (crime fiction is not really my thing). But still, I have to admit, this book is exciting! Piet Hoffman is an infiltrator who enters one of Sweden's major prisons to take over the drug trade, on behalf of both the Polish mafia and the Swedish police. When things go wrong, suddenly all his enemies are ...
Across the board says:
Have not read, but listened to "Three seconds" Some episodes were really thrilling and it was impossible to stop listening.
I remember good friends telling me about listening together in the car. They had gone out in their car to do some shopping. It was so exciting that they stayed in the car on the driveway when they got home. Suddenly they realised that their neighbour was standing on the other side of the hedge watching them - it must have looked funny with both of them just sitting there. Silent and staring straight ahead.... A book that is recommended, in other words //Anette

What a coincidence, the fact that the book is also good doesn't make it any worse......

What a fun story about your friends! It's wonderful when you get caught up in an exciting story like that, although I understand that the neighbour was wondering...
🙂
Katarina and Veiken, yes, life is full of such strange coincidences! It's not very often you stand on the boat Wavel, so the odds of this happening can't have been very high...
