Last month we asked about cooking in the motorhome. Most people answered that they usually "cook something simple", although many also "cook something delicious". Kitchens in modern motorhomes are good, but of course you have less space to move around than at home and it's nice to not have too many pots and pans.

Simple and delicious in the motorhome
We like simple, but we also like delicious! We thought we'd share what we usually cook in our motorhome kitchen. Feel free to tell us what it usually becomes "at home" with you!
graters
If you have an oven, it's very easy to put in a self-cooking gratin, for example with fish, prawns, dill and cream.
Casseroles
Throwing everything in the same pot and avoiding lots of pots and pans is also practical. One of our favourites is this one Mediterranean stew.
Barbecue
Barbecuing is an essential part of summer in the motorhome. For example, marinated chicken and grilled peppers with chopped potatoes, tomatoes and vegetables. feta cheese spread. Don't forget to put fish on the grill! Our favourite is grilled seabream.
sandwiches
Sometimes it's nice to just throw together an extra good sandwich. Our favourites are filled with halloumi and parma ham or tuna, olives and capers.
Picked food
What's simpler and more luxurious than picnic food? A classic Swedish smorgasbord or Italian delicacies... But if you want a real party in your campervan - it should be seafood!

When I grill fish, I use a fish grid, much easier to turn and the fish stays together. We cook a lot in the car but avoid frying in the car.
Frying on the gas grill works perfectly well.

Lovely post, lovely pictures and lovely food! I get so damn bad conscience when I see these pictures, when we bought our Motorhome 4 years ago I had great cooking visions, the closest we came to cooking was during our France trip when we cooked a lot of simple food. But otherwise it has become more parked outside restaurants (advantage with a handicap permit), sometimes we have even ordered food to the Motorhome. At first, the pesonal looks at you as if you were an "orpon" but when I explained that my wife has some difficulty walking, it usually works better. But you are not allowed to take wine out in a motorhome from a restaurant in Sweden! Silly!
As I said, nice post as usual with you!
Best wishes!
Hugs from Oumberlige Peter!

Ama de casa says:
We don't have an oven in the tent, but we do have a two-burner gas hob and the latest addition - a fridge! The fridge has made it easier to cook good food, and you can save the leftovers for a day or two.

And maybe I should clarify that the gas stove is not IN the tent, but we have it with us when camping 😀.

We probably have quite similar tastes! Gratings, casseroles, sandwiches, picnic food and seafood are often used as well!
And "on request" a simple recipe for shrimp gratin is published on our blog Kors & Tvärs. Unfortunately not with any tempting pictures... //Anette

Nils, I didn't know about fish screens, but maybe it's a good idea?
Peter Olofsson, I think you have a nice relaxed approach to cooking in your campervan!
😉
Ama de casa, I'm glad you explained about the gas stove and the tent. Now you feel much calmer ...
😉
Criss-cross, what fun! Then I will look in and check out the recipe!

Snobs & Co says:
I like to cook and as a new caravan cook, it has become both quick versions as a pizza kit when we have a gas oven, from loan books on camping food such as chip lasagne to homemade bread (kneaded, fermented and frozen at home) and on the gas grill fish bun packages and grilled rolls, on the stove we have probably mostly cooked new potatoes for the herring and yes, the takeaway food also found it in Indian style :-).
What we have had trouble with is the coffee. It was the patience that was not enough for the small 12V brewer and for a while we boiled water and brewed in melitta filters until we finally found a store with a mocha maker, however, we did not find a Bialetti, but now it works great! Fast and delicious!

We tried the shrimp gratin last night, deliciously worse and as the husband said "I want to eat it again" 🙂 Thanks for the recipe!
However, we couldn't leave a comment on the Crossroads blog, probably because we don't have a google account 🙂.

Snobben & Co, it sounds like you've tried all sorts of things in your motorhome! So far we only make instant coffee with powder, but we are thinking about getting a coffee machine.
How nice that you tried the shrimp gratin, and that it was good! I do not know why you managed to comment at Kors & Tvärs, but I left a comment there and with a link here.

Snobben & Co - how nice that you liked the gratin. Have made some changes in blog settings so hopefully it will work to comment with us now too.
Thank you Freedomtravel, for the link.
